A concept hitherto unprecedented in France
First of all, what is The Live Thriller? Halfway between street theatre, escape game and role-playing, this interactive adventure projects the various participants into a life-size noir thriller.
Performed by several actors, the experience led my classmates and myself to conduct an immersive investigation in the streets of Paris and several rentals arranged by the team of The Live Thriller. This game has its own universe, extremely realistic and captivating, entirely created from an original idea, the result of 3 years of hard work.
A breathtaking cinematic experience…
As usual, we will not talk about the scenario here, in order to leave the surprise to potential players. The curious are invited to head to the trailer or the official website to discover the ins and outs of this immersive investigation. The game session is interspersed with cinematic sequences advancing the scenario, and bringing new elements to the investigation.
Regarding the sets, you will surely tell me "easy to make realistic sets, the game takes place in the street", certainly… But to this, I answer that more than 300m² of premises have been arranged for the purposes of the survey! Each place has been designed to push the player to his limits, and these are extremely disturbing and sweat discomfort (little advice: try to play at night for maximum sensations and take full advantage of the claustrophobic atmosphere of the experience).
To the scenario and sets, a phenomenal acting is added, each member gives his all in his role, which allows players to fully immerse themselves in the game!
… accompanied by exciting puzzles!
Throughout our adventure, we had to solve several puzzles in order to advance the scenario. Each of them is well thought out. Sometimes simple, sometimes more complex, they fit perfectly into the scenario and their realism adds a level of immersion to an experience that already mixes the boundaries of reality and fiction.
In addition to the interactivity of the game is added the fact that the end of the adventure is not fixed: it can change depending on how the players have interacted with the actors and whether they have managed to solve the different puzzles in the allotted time.Whether or not you succeed in solving this investigation, the end will not leave you on your…. hunger!
The team and I had a great time during these 2h30 (it's long, but it's worth it). Wewere at times terrified, at times intrigued by this immersive investigation, but we were never bored! We strongly advise our readers to participate in this adventure, whether you are fans of puzzles, thrillers or role-playing games!
