If you like to walk around Europe, you could hardly miss Hungary. Rich in culture and enchanting landscapes, the country continues to charm tourists of all kinds. But a special category of tourism has been developing in recent years: dental tourism.
Going to Hungary
Although the country is modest in size, it is a cultural Eldorado for travelers. We think of course of Budapest, but also the lush countryside, the gigantic lakes or the traditional villages. Budding photographers will also have something to do with a subject like Budapest… Between the Hungarian Parliament (Országház), the Great Synagogue, the Széchenyi Baths or the Mathias Church (Matyas Templom), there is enough to take splendid and very inspired shots. Other sites than ours will list all the exceptional places to visit in Hungary. But a certain wave of tourism continues to surprise about this country. A very special medical tourism.
Dental tourism
Dental care is far from accessible to all. And this despite social security and other mutuals. Many people have found the solution: go to Hungary for treatment, where the dental implant price is drastically lower. Obviously, the interest is less for the usual care. But it is clear that for the most expensive operations, it is often more advantageous to pay for the trip and the hotel abroad, rather than to be operated in France. Of course, medical nomadism must be practiced with caution. Clinics must be carefully selected and it is necessary to inquire about the practitioner chosen. But after all, these warnings also apply to the choice of clinics in France. It should also be noted that it is possible to be reimbursed for care provided abroad. Some conditions apply, including the fact that they are carried out in Europe. However, it seems that this solution is sustainable for many people requiring specific care.
"Medical tourism": a term that makes sense
So obviously, going abroad has a cost. And it can quickly inflate your bills, where your goal is to bring them down. But in the term "medical tourism" there is the word "tourism". Which means you can kill two birds with one stone! Indeed, if your care is not urgent, nothing prevents you from organizing your holidays and your medical appointment over a concomitant period. You will be able to enjoy cheaper treatments, but above all enjoy a country full of cultural riches. Organizing your holidays at the same time as your operations is all the more judicious, because some treatments require regular monitoring. Which means you may have to go back to check that everything is okay. So prepare your schedule well! One thing is certain: whether you need care or not, don't hesitate to visit Hungary! Its proximity makes it an ideal place for a long holiday or for a simple weekend…
