While the 43rd Angoulême festival will open its doors on Thursday, rumors are rife. Winner of the 42nd grand prize of the festival last year, Katsuhiro Otomo arrived on site. At a press conference, a question about a possible TV adaptation of Akira was asked. To this request, the author's response could cause some joy among his fans:
"Among the master's multiple projects, a TV series of Akira would be under study, but he can not currently reveal anything"
So that's a pleasant surprise. For the moment, nothing is yet certain or official. But just imagining that a serial adaptation of what was one of Japan's greatest animated films could see the light of day already gives us some excitement.
