Lately, remakes of dramas or films continue to emerge, mainly between Japan and South Korea. It is therefore once again a question of a remake but not just any since it will be the successful Korean film Sunny ! This Japanese version in film form is also planned for the end of the summer.
But let's go back a little bit to this Korean film released on May 4, 2011 which navigated between past and present among a group of young women, dreams full head. The story made us follow several women with various characters forming the group Sunny in their youth.
The feature film had been at more than a dozen festivals between 2011 and 2012. With its potential and an audience at the rendezvous, it had also won several awards (best director, editor and actress).
The cast consisted of Yoo Ho-Jeong (Heard It Through the Grapevine), Jin Hee-Kyung (Fight for My Way), Ko Su-Hee (My Little Baby), Hong Jin-Hee (A Tale of Two Sisters) and Lee Yeon-Kyung (Manhole) for those who became adults.
And Shim Eun-Kyung (The Mayor), Kang So-Ra (Revolutionary Love), Kim Min-Young (Queen of Ring), Park Jin-Joo (While You Were Sleeping) and Nam Bo-Ra (Lovers in Bloom) for the teenage versions.
Sunny: Tsuyoi Kimochi Tsuyoi Ai, the J-Drama
So here we are seven years after the first version which will probably be different from its sister although the story is probably the same. To direct and write, a Hitoshi One man whose filmography is no longer to prove and to whom we owe in particular the adaptations of Bakuman or Hello Hari Nezumi.
On the casting side, the adult versions will be given to actresses Ryoko Shinohara (Minshu no Teki Yononaka, Okashikunai Desuka), Yoko Maki (Cecile no Mokuromi), Eiko Koike (Haha ni Naru), Rie Tomosaka (P to JK) and Naomi Watanabe (Kanna-san!).
The schoolgirls will be played by Suzu Hirose (Anone), Maika Yamamoto (Miseinen Dakedo Kodomo Janai), Mio Noda (Saiki Kusuo no Sainan), Momoko Tanabe (Love and Lies) and Miu Tomita (Asahinagu).
The distribution will be done via the firm Toho and already has a screening date scheduled for August 31st.
