A colorful series!
The Shadow of Shanghai is a series that plunges you into the heart of the 1930s in the city of Shanghai.
On the scenario side, we go on an adventure with Lila and Gaspard, seeking to meet the famous "Shadow of Shanghai" who makes his own in the streets of the city. But their research will not be without difficulty and our two heroes will face dangers, through many adventures.
For my part, I found this story very interesting, the actions and twists that take place over the pages are very pleasant to discover. In addition, the atmosphere in which we are immersed adds a captivating side and makes you want to devour the rest of the series in one go. Finally, the fact that this series has only 6 volumes allows the reader not to get tired and thus, not to lose the interest he brings to the story and the characters.
On the character side, we mainly follow Lila and Gaspard, who are at the center of the story. But also Clara and Dino, "friends" of Gaspard, as well as this mysterious shadow, of which we learn a little more over the volumes! I must admit that the character of Gaspard is unbearable to me. The way he treats Lila annoys me. However, this is only a detail that is forgotten quite quickly after starting reading.
Now, I'm going to tell you about the graphics that I really like!First of all, the series is entirely in color and not black and white like most other books of this genre. Not being used to it, I was quite surprised at first, but over the pages, I got used to it and I found it very pleasant. This allowed me to appreciate the graphics and the story itself even more. In addition, the colors that are used are bright, they attract the eye and the rendering is really very good!
I advise you to discover this series which is really very pleasant to read. The beauty of the settings, an intriguing story, endearing characters, the best mix for a successful series!
