Today, we're talking about a new live-action movie adaptation for Kodama Yuki's manga Sakamichi no Apollon (Kids on the Slope). We also remind you that the manga is published in France by Kazé and has nine volumes! He had the right to an anime version (of twelve episodes) in 2012 with a DVD box set available at Dybex.
We discover the three protagonists of the story: Kaoru Nishimi, Sentaro Kawabuchi and Ritsuko Mukae! The film Live is Golden is already scheduled for next year in Japan.
Synopsis of the manga
Abandoned by his mother when he was little, Nishimi Kaoru has always lived with his father, who is a sailor. But the latter having to move very regularly, Kaoru has never been able to make friends and this time finds himself having to live with his uncle in Kyûshû. Although he can't stand this new life, he meets Ritsuko Mukae, the class delegate, and Kawabuchi Sentarô, a notorious thug who seems to have some interest in the new. By the strangest of circumstances, he will discover that the latter is a drummer passionate about Jazz and Kaoru playing the piano, the two boys will then get closer little by little thanks to the magic of music.
