Every summer, five childhood friends gather at the grave
of a corpse they buried at the bottom of a cave.
They remember their crime and renew their oath of friendship.
But this time, their morbid ritual doesn't go as planned:

Fear and suspicion then intrude into the group of friends.
A scary secret
The first page propels us directly into the atmosphere that the author wants us to feel by his pencil stroke. It reveals a dark atmosphere where five children remember a terrible crime, united hand in hand. 
When the first page is turned, we move away from this morbid universe to focus on the lives of our protagonists. Of course, this will not last: we are immersed in a thriller anyway! We will therefore follow the story of Shintarō and his friends. Each character has its own character which allows us to identify them without too much difficulty. While we have just devoured the first two chapters, the mangaka manages to penetrate our thoughts, in such a way that the reader wonders. Questions to which the answers are not yet revealed to us such as "Who is this corpse?" or "What drove young teenagers to kill someone?" However, their quiet and monotonous life is interrupted by a mysterious character: a blackmailer. The terrible secret risks being revealed to the general public if they do not obey his orders. This is how hell begins for our young novices.
A bloody universe
In this manga, Until our bones rot, Yae UTSUMI manages to make us feel certain emotions such as fear, disgust. We can indeed observe them on the facial expressions of our characters. Thanks to a very realistic drawing, the reader easily dives into this manga. The author also manages to attract our attention thanks to a captivating scenario, which leaves no room for boredom, the enemy of the reader! Each character has a story of his own, which makes us want to know more about each of them. We will see that simple high school students have a life, a past upsetting. This first volume throws us directly into the heart of the matter: the quest for an inconvenient truth. Can we really trust those around us? in our group of friends? This is what the author wants us to understand through this manga. That when a terrible secret is revealed, it is difficult to suspect the people around us. It will therefore be difficult for you to get away from the universe of Yae Utsumi once the first of the seven volumes begins.
