On November 18, jTBC and Viu TV released Song Joong Ki's long-awaited new drama, "Reborn Rich". Broadcast on Viki as soon as it was released, this drama had the expected success and even more, having broken several audience records in Korea. We take you to discover this drama that combines fantasy, power, politics and takes us especially into the ruthless world of Korean conglomerate families, the "chaebols". Taken from the San Gyeong web novel "Youngest son of a Conglomerate", it is a nugget of this end of the year 2022.
Synopsis
Yoon Hyeon Woo has been working for several years for the family of the powerful Soonyang Group. Devoted to this family, he never discussed orders and served them without question. One day, he is sent by the same family to retrieve a slush fund, but he is betrayed and killed by one of its members. From there, he wakes up decades earlier, in the body of Jin Do Jun, the youngest grandson of this conglomerate family. He then decides to take revenge.
ACTORS AND CHARACTERS
Of course, this drama was presented from the beginning, as the one that signed the return of Song Joong Ki, who is no longer presented (Descendants of the sun, Vincenzo, etc…) He is as usual excellent and holds this double role beautifully throughout the drama. Just his name is already synonymous with success, he really remains an excellent actor. But we must also highlight all the string of actors that also make the strength and flavor of this drama. 
We find among others, in the role of the grandfather, Lee Sung Min who we recently saw among others in " Juvenile Justice" on Netflix. He is impressive and perfect in this role of head of chaebol family. His performance is magnificent and he holds the head of this drama with Song Joong Ki brilliantly. There are many well-known faces among the children and grandchildren of this large family, and they are all impeccable, each in their character and personality. It's a treat. The grandmother too, played by Kim Hyun is just perfect. 
The female lead alongside Song Joong Ki is played by Shin Hyun Bin, and here she signs one of these most beautiful roles. In short, all these actors are to be discovered because they bring exactly what is needed to this production and immerse us totally in this world of power and money.
Its strengths
Beyond the actors, the strengths of this drama are its direction and its story. We are caught up in it easily, and we can't wait to know the rest. You never know which foot to dance on, you imagine all kinds of scenarios, and finally, until the end, you have absolutely no idea what each episode will be made of. No one can predict the twists and turns and we are always shocked and / or amazed. We can only highlight its director, Jeong Dae Yun, who as for the drama " W" knew how to take us into the story and made a very beautiful realization. The whole universe of this drama is right, and we believe it. The chaebols and each member of the family make people cringe, anger or make us smile softly. Some characters, like Jin Do Jun's brother, bring a perfect touch of humor. They are all different, and perfect, bringing different feelings from each other. 
A SMALL COMPLAINT?
As has been said, this drama shook the audiences, and broke several records of these same audiences in Korea. Among other things, it beat that of the most seen for a week, then it exceeded 20% of audience, a huge figure, rarely reached. It is moreover, at the end of 2022, the only one to have passed this figure synonymous with success for the year (21.2% on the 11th episode) then it remained on its momentum, oscillating between 22 and 26% until the last episode (Almost 27% audience for episode 16). So, a little reproach? Well, precisely, for some viewers who loved this drama so much from the beginning, they were generally disappointed by the final episode. We expect so much, we imagine so many scenarios, that indeed, we could easily remain hungry on certain points. In addition, its conclusion deviates considerably from that of the web novel, eliciting very mixed reactions, some viewers did not like this noticeable difference. But that does not prevent it, it remains one of the best dramas of 2022, and will remain for a long time as a huge success in Korea. Now, will it have the same success internationally? We'll find out in 2023, as platforms like Netflix have already applied for rights to be able to stream it. In the meantime, it is on the VIKI platform, and we strongly advise you to go and discover it. So, chaebol fans, to your screens!
