The date of the second season of One Punch Man was relayed many times on the web a few days ago, but very quickly denied. But today, it's official! So When will One Punch Man season 2 arrive? 2018, 2019, 2020 ? The answer is finally known and we reveal it to you right away!
After shaking the web in the fall of 2015, the sequel to the animated adaptation of One Punch Man was one of the most anticipated in recent months. Announced for the first time for 2018, the sequel to the anime is long overdue… This week rumors have made many fans despair with a vague 2020. Finally, it was during a special Japanese event One Punch Man that took place this weekend, that the sentence was rendered: the second season of the adventures of Saitama will be broadcast in April 2019!
For the Japanese present at this festival dedicated to the license, the wait will be long since they were able to see in preview the first episode of this new season. For us, this announcement is reassuring in view of the fears generated this week!
As a reminder, One Punch Man is basically a work of ONE, the author of Mob Psycho 100. Started in 2009, it finally became a resounding success in 2012 with the involvement of Yūsuke MURATA. The designer of Eyeshield 21 proposes to ONE to take the drawings of the author, in order to make it the work that we know internationally. Published in Shueisha's Tonari Young Jump, the manga currently has 17 bound volumes in Japan (compared to 11 in France, published by Kurokawa). An animated adaptation made by the animation studio Madhouse will finally arrive at the end of 2015, available for streaming first on Anime Digital Network (ADN) and then more recently on Netflix! For fans of physical box sets, the series has been released twice by Kazé on DVD and BR, once in 2016 and again this year.
Another detail but not the least, the opening of season 2 of One Punch Man will be interpreted once again by the group Jam Project to which we owe the first opening which also contributed to the growth of the series! A band that we had the pleasure of seeing evolve on stage during the Japan Music Party in 2017!
During his visit to France, we had the honor of interviewing Chikashi Kubota, the character-design of the series. An interview that you will find below!
