The successful saga of Kawahara Reki has not finished talking about it. Indeed, a new trailer has just been released for the next movie Sword Art Online: Progressive. It is on the official website of the series that we had the pleasure to discover unpublished images of Gekijouban Sword Art Online: Progressive – Hoshinaki Yoru no Aria. Initially announced as an anime, this adaptation will eventually be an animated film. The release is normally scheduled for 2021 in Japanese cinemas. Regarding the scenario, this film will adapt the novel Sword Art Online – progressive, currently available at Ofelbe (2 volumes – in progress). It will be a reboot of the original story. 
Synopsis of the light novel:
"This game is impossible to finish. The only thing that differentiates us is where and how we die. A month has passed since the Sword Art Online death game opened its doors and imprisoned ten thousand souls. Kirito, a solo player who has vowed to rely only on himself to progress, will meet a rare figure on the front lines: a female player. This girl who chained the fights against formidable monsters with the sole force of her rapier, had everything of a shooting star piercing the night sky.

On the Character Designer's side, we find Toya Kento, who was also present for the previous film (Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld). No surprise for the soundtrack since Kajiura Yuki will be at the helm. She has produced the soundtracks for all SAO anime and adaptations. Unsurprisingly this time either, Abec will be the character designer of the film. And on the production side, Aniplex will continue to amaze us with very high quality animation. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito) and Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna) will reprise their roles for the film. What do you think of this new adaptation?
