Ranking of Kings is probably one of the most original works we have seen in animation in recent weeks. Studio Wit is at the helm of the animated adaptation. The creative teams did a titanic job to brilliantly adapt the manga. Volume 1 of Ranking of kings arrives on April 7, 2022 at Ki-OON.  The duo consisting of Boji and Ombre will conquer the hearts of French fans. In order to get an idea of what awaits you, the French publisher is putting chapter 1 online for free. The kingdom of King Bosse is experiencing a pivotal period. The superpowered king is about to die. His son Boji, who is also his direct heir, does not have the job profile to take his place. He is weak and has two major handicaps, he is deaf and dumb. In a country where the ranking of kings is paramount, this territory is likely to experience very sad days after the reign of a remarkable sovereign. However, Boji has assets to show: A foolproof smile, a singular kindness and a very special friend. Don't be fooled by the minimalist design of the work, Ranking of Kings is not a manga for children. There are themes such as friendship, the meaning of family but also much darker subjects such as the misdeeds of war, torture. The animated series is highly appreciated as it is nominated for Best Animation at the 2022 Crunchyroll Awards. 21 episodes are on the program for this atypical series. Studio Wit and Aniplex have perfectly reproduced the atmosphere of the manga. A great success for an animation that really contrasts with the standards of the genre.

The soundtrack of Ranking of Kings is available

Did you like the OST of the animated series? Well, you can buy it right now since it's available from Milan Records. Composer Mayuko is at the helm. Here are the words of the artist on this epic fresco narrating the adventures of Boji and Shadow. "I discovered a wonderful work of art called Ranking of Kings and I thought I could make the music for this piece! I composed this soundtrack with the feeling that it was the culmination of my life as a musician. Crying to sad songs, dancing to happy songs… For a total of 91 songs created with the feelings of the characters in mind. At the same time as Bojji's great adventure, it is my great adventure. We hope you enjoy every piece of it!" Image of the album used as the cover page of the article: © SousukeTOKA,KADOKAWA/Ranking of Kings animation film partners
