After two difficult years related to the health crisis, the Clermont Geek Convention (CGC) is back on the weekend of 19/20 March 2022. The opportunity to meet exhibitors, publishers, cosplayers and much more!

The Clermont Geek Convention?

Clermont geek convention The CGC is THE meeting place in Auvergne for all fans of geek and Japanese culture! Their site lists no less than 100 exhibitors, 37 guests and a program worthy of major events of the genre! The convention takes place on Saturday, March 19, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Access is open from 9:30 am for presales. In addition to the many exhibitors and various conferences, you will have the opportunity to participate in many activities. And this year, there is something for everyone! Whether you are a fan of video games with different virtual reality, retrogaming, e-sports stands or you prefer board games, you should be able to find your happiness. And if this is still not the case, discover exhibitions, battle arenas, a mechanical unicorn (for the more adventurous among you), karaoke or even an escape hunt (a mix between an escape game and a treasure hunt). Also enjoy a dance/singing contest as well as a cosplay contest (France cosplay cup and group). The opportunity to discover new talents and be amazed by incredible cosplays!

Actors:

Clermont Geek Convention The GSC is honoured to welcome this year a member of the cast of the very famous British Harry Potter saga, Devon Murray! The actor who plays Seamus Finnigan will be present all weekend on a photo booth and signings. Remember to book a slot so that you can meet him. Devon Murray will also be on the main stage on Saturday from 5pm to 6pm and Sunday from 11am to 12pm to answer your questions and to make you discover anecdotes about the famous saga of JK Rowling.  

Authors:

  • Filipe Andrade

Filipe Andrade Portuguese artist and writer, Felipe Andrade collaborates with Marvel Comics since 2009 and he has realized several projects including Iron Man, X men or Black Widow and Wolverine. Filipe Andrade is the main illustrator of the new hit Captain Marvel series (Marvel Comics). This series is dedicated to the superhero Carol Danvers.

  • Francesco Manna

Francesco Manna Italian cartoonist and inker, Francesco Manna works for Avatar Press and Zenescope. He was also a storyboarder for Meangrip Game Studios (video games). Francesco Manna is also an artist at Marvel Comics. He participated, among others, in the creation of Old Man Logan (2016) of 2018, Avengers (Marvel France – 2020) and Captain Marvel (2019).

  • JL Mast

JL Mast Author/storyboarder working mainly for Marvel Comics, JL Mast has several series to his credit, such as Daredevil / Punisher: Seventh Circle, Avengers Millennium, Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, A Year of Marvels or Thanos: A god Up There Listening.  JL Mast is also the writer and storyboarder of Pax Arena, produced in collaboration with Geoffo & Balak. He collaborated on the series Community by directing the strips featuring Jim The Duck in season 5. He also participated in the storyboard of the official prologue to Avengers: Age of Ultron with the comic book adaptation of the first Avengers movie.

  • Kira Yukishiro

Kira Yukishiro Italian mangaka, Kira Yukishiro is the author of Scarlet Soul, published by Hydre à 2 têtes. The story of Scarlet Soul takes place in a fantasy world where romance, swords and exorcists mingle. She will be present on the stand of the Mummy bookstore.

  • Luca Maresca

Luca Maresca Italian cartoonist, Luca Maresca has participated in several series, including John Doe, Dibbuk and Bonelli.

  • Philippe Scherding

Philippe Scherding Discover exclusive Hel, Philippe Scherding's new comic book! The latter will be released on March 24 by Michel Lafon !

Hel is the story of a young woman who smuggles her soul. One day, it is Victor that she takes to the other world and their road will be strewn with pitfalls.
  • Rufus Dayglo

Rufus Dayglo British-born cartoonist and storyboarder Rufus Dayglo works for 2000AD and Titan Books, as well as DC Vertigo, IDW publishing and Image Comics. He worked on Tank Girl, a series available from Ankama Edition.

  • Tetsuya Gotani

Tetsuya Gotani Tetsuya Gotani is a Japanese artist who created ORIGAMI (art of paper folding). His diagrams have appeared in Origami books in several countries. He is also the author of several books. Tetsuya Gotani will be present at the "Cultural and Associations" space for the entire GSC weekend and will also lead Japanese workshops with his wife Maïko, representative of Japan Auvergne-Nippon Auvergne (JANA), partner of CGC since the first edition of Japan Event.

  • Zelihan

Zelihan Author of the manga Wandering Soul released by Hydre à 2 Têtes in 2020, Zelihan will be present on the stand of the Momie bookstore to present his work.

Alexis Orsini "Alexis Orsini is a journalist and the author of the biography Harrison Ford: The actor who did not want to be a star published by Dunod and One Piece – La volonté d'Oda (Pix'n Love editions). He also wrote a monograph on mangaka Naoki Urasawa, L'air du temps, published in 2012 by Electric Sheep. This year, he will be giving two lectures at the GSC, one on One Piece and one on Naoki Urasawa (Monster, 20th Century Boys)

  • Gersende Bollut

Gersende BOLLUT "Journalist and writer, author of several books on the 7th art, he works for a wide recognition of the field of animation and to fight against the prejudices of a cinema often stamped young audience." Gersende Bollut will give a talk on a famous animation studio, Pixar, the studio that revolutionized animated cinema, as well as on Aborted Animated Films.
