Synopsis :

Shin Morimura has been a manga author for almost thirty years. Approaching fifty, and while he has just completed his latest river series, his publisher asks him to find a new original idea for his next title. Initially lacking inspiration, the cartoonist will finally embark on a "little" crazy project: to live in the mountains, without running water or electricity, and tell his new daily life in manga! His wife will eventually follow him, despite "some" apprehensions… From the construction of their wooden passive house to the difficult learning of food autonomy, follow the incredible life of this couple more like the others!

The ecological editorial line of Akata editions returns once again to the front of the stage. After Me, City Gardener, and Miracle Apples, here is My Life in the Woods ! Between autobiographical story and guide of the camper, this title tells us how the author had the idea after more than thirty years of career, to live in total autonomy in the mountains. At a time when technology accompanies us in the slightest of our steps, how can we not apprehend a return to nature without electricity or even running water? If this experience stems from a search for an original theme for a new series, Shin Morimura goes about the game revealing the difficulties related to this undertaking.

With a quarterly rhythm, My Life in the Woods promises to be an adventure that is not limited to manga readers, but to all the curious who want to know more about a life in complete autonomy. Will you be tempted by this original series?
