Mashle: A magical universe!
In this world where magic is commonplace, we will have the pleasure of following the adventures of Mash Burnedead, a young student living reclusive in the forest, spending his days doing weight training. However, his life changes completely when a government agent discovers that he is devoid of magical power! A crime punishable by death in this imaginary world filled with magic. To survive, he will have to enroll in Easton, a magic academy, and become its best student.
A Harry Potter parody
If the story sounds familiar, it's completely normal! Indeed, the manga absolutely does not hide its inspiration from another work of fantasy for teenagers. As you can see, Mashle is a kind of parody of Harry Potter! Just look at the dust jacket of volume 1 to see the resemblance. Hajime Komoto wanted to pay tribute to Harry Potter in his own way by multiplying the small (or big) winks to the adventures of the bespectacled wizard.
