The world of drama no matter if it is Japanese or Korean is vast, and yet, there are some that mark us more than others and become references. If there is one drama that everyone knows it is: Hana yori dango (Boys Over Flowers)! So, after all its years and its many adaptations what will this sequel be able to tell us?
For all those who do not know the story, do not worry, here is something to put you in the bath; For the others we will refresh your memory. Hana Yori Dango is a manga of the early nineties, completed in 2004 written by Yoko Kamio (Tora & Ookami). The manga has thirty-seven volumes released in France by Glénat.
On the adaptation side, we had a first live movie in 1995 which was followed the following year by an anime of 51 episodes. A few years later, in 2001, the first Taiwanese remake of the manga: Meteor Garden (two seasons with fifty episodes) was born.
Japan then became interested in this manga again with the release in 2005 of a new adaptation of two seasons (with twenty episodes) and two SP. The Koreans have also integrated into the breach by offering us a remake in 2009: Boys Over Flowers.
Hana Nochi Hare – Hanadan Next Season, the J-Drama
Hana Nochi Hare is a title that suggests that a sequel will take place after the end of Makino and the F4 members' studies. We will discover new characters and a new story that will still remain in a similar context.
The adaptation is from the webcomic: Hana Nochi Hare: Hanadan Next Season by mangaka Yoko Kamio.
The cast will consist of actress Hana Sugisaki seen in Blade of the Immortal, Sho Hirano member of the groups Kansai Johnnys' Jr. & Mr.KING, who will soon be in Honey. And finally, Taishi Nakagawa seen in 2017 in ReLIFE.
The drama should be released in Japan, next April on TBS (the same as HYD).
Webcomic synopsis
After graduating from F4 and Makino in high school, Eitoku School changed.
Indeed, a new high school has opened its doors and students are joining it. Oto Edogawa is registered in Eitoku, making it appear that she is rich, but in reality, she is poor and must work to maintain her reputation. Haruto Kakuragi is the leader of the group Correct 5, a group modeled on the F4 and of which he was a fan. One day, while discreetly going to a convenience store to pick up ordered packages, he faces Oto! Both seeing their secret revealed, decide by mutual agreement to keep it between them.
