That's it, the mages of Fairy Tail are finally back with the broadcast of the first episode of Fairy Tail 2018 on the legal streaming platform DNA! The opportunity to go on an adventure one last time with Natsu and his friends!

Synopsis of episode 278: The Thanksgiving of Lamia Scale (Episode 1 of the last season)

Despite the dissolution of Fairy Tail, Lucy did not give up on reuniting her comrades who scattered here and there. Accompanied by Natsu and Happy, she makes her way to the town of Margaret, to find little Wendy. When the three travelers arrive at their destination, they discover that the big annual party is in full swing in the streets.

The great return of Fairy Tail !

We had to wait more than 2 years to go on an adventure with our favorite mages! But that's it, they're back fitter than ever! This first episode begins just after the end of the last episode of Fairy Tail 2014, when Lucy, Natsu and Happy go in search of the other members of the guild in order to reunite them and thus reform the famous guild! 

So we discover our favorite characters a year after the guild was dissolved. Few elements have been shown in this first episode concerning their evolution. However, some new attacks and allusions to them make us want to discover the rest of the season with eagerness! What new spells did they learn? What galleys will they still get into? So many questions we can't wait to know the answers to! 

In addition, in this first episode, our three friends found Wendy and Carla. Here too, the questions are jostling, will they join the Fairy Tail guild? What have they done in the past year? The next episodes will probably be rich in twists and turns as well as action since one of the last scenes of the episode is none other than a fight. Nothing better to immerse us in the fantastic world of Fairy Tail !

A smooth start!

Regarding this first episode, we slowly find the magical world that we had left two years earlier. The action is not at the rendezvous for this first episode. We will have to wait until next week to make the most of the fights that we enjoy so much in this saga. However, Lucy, Natsu, and Happy's relationship hasn't changed, despite the fact that they haven't seen each other for a year. So we find a clumsy Natsu, go-getter and daredevil, a Lucy who does not let herself be done by these two friends, even if it means putting a right hook on them and Happy, Natsu's best friend, still obsessed with fish. 

In addition, a slight flashback alludes to the events that took place during the Tartaros arc. Some scenes are put end to end, without any real objective, except to remind us of their last great adventure. We can therefore wonder if this flashback will take importance in the rest of the season. We can also wonder when Zeleph will make his comeback?

In terms of animation, this last season is also produced by the animation studios A-1 Pictures and Bridge. We therefore find quality graphics, fluid, with attractive colors that allow us to make the most of the action scenes, reunions and friendly fights that take place in this first episode.

Regarding the soundtrack, we find with great pleasure the flagship titles of the series as the main theme, but we also discover new ones with the new opening and ending! The opening, titled Power of the Dream , is performed by LOL, a Japanese pop group. The ending, titled Endless Harmony , is performed by Beverly, a Filipino singer. 

This new opening, full of punch, quickly introduces us to the members of the guild and allows us to remember some scenes of the anime, well, for our part anyway. Seeing all the members one by one reminds us of the beginnings of the series and the many arcs it contains. It even made us want to dive back into the very first episodes of the series… So many memories!
