While volume 61 of Fairy Tail is about to be released in Japan, the afterword of the volume announces that the manga will only have two volumes! A confirmed news that may make you shed a few tears…
This is not necessarily a surprise, since it has been announced for a while that this arc is the last of the series, but Hiro Mashima's short story comforts his readers of the first hour. Indeed, Japanese volume 61, which will be released on May 17, 2017 in Japan, contains a note from the author indicating that his Fairy Tail series will contain 63 volumes in total. We can therefore expect an end to pre-publication in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine during the summer. He also indicates that he will not take a break and will start on a new title very soon!
Note that the manga in France is published by Pika. Volume 57 has just been released in May with a collector's edition !
