Synopsis
However, was this drama a success? Highly anticipated, because we found the well-known actor Lee Dong Wook in the lead role, it is also true that many have criticized him for having made a pale copy of the series "Goblin". Indeed, in 2016, released one of the dramas that still today is one of the biggest successes of recent years and remains the best rated on some sites: "Goblin" or "The great and lonely God". In it, Lee Dong Wook played the role of the reaper, one of the main roles, alongside the equally famous actor, Gong Yoo. 
Many have therefore criticized Lee Dong Wook for attempting a second feat in the same kind of drama and failing. That said, like any series, it's still very personal. We can still say that his role is very well carried, he knows admirably how to slip into the skin of this arrogant fox and in the end really touching. As for the other characters we can note: Lee Tae Ri, who also mastered his role to perfection, icy and evil at will. Kim Bum who plays Lee Rang, is excellent, a pivotal role in this drama, and beautifully acted. The secondary characters of the Veterinary Fox and the Vixen wounded by humans, and who has become an almost desperate animal, are very interesting and clearly bring us even better into their universe: We adhere! 
And finally, the guardian of the Samdo River, and her husband, also have a whole story that is gradually discovered. We think she is cold and emotionless (which is essential in the face of her role), but we also discover, as the episodes progress, a deeper character. Her husband is also, alternately touching, funny or full of incomprehension in front of this woman who has been his wife for hundreds of years. They are really interesting characters to discover. 
ROMANCE AND BROMANCE
Romance is what it is: Pretty and worked for some, warmed for others. Each will be receptive or not to their story. But it is still well conducted, and challenges us at least, by their feelings that are discovered and rediscovered. 
Jo Bo Ah has a lot to do with it: Her role as a woman of character but touching is really brought as it should be. We believe in her as much, as a woman, but also as Lee Yeon's partner. 
But the "plus" of this drama is indeed the relationship between the two brothers: It's a nugget. They upset, touch, sometimes annoy, but emotionally, it's very strong. 
Kim Bum knew how to play his character perfectly: He is worked, has material, and it is really one of his best roles to date. Their relationship is the one that will ultimately mark you the most. Many critics, even negative ones, have nevertheless highlighted this bromance as one of the most successful in recent years. Despite criticism a little harsh, and a lot of reproaches, this drama remains to be discovered. Fans of Lee Dong Wook will be delighted, and for all others, the fantastic side, historical, and the beauty of the images can still make you appreciate this series. The last episodes are emotionally strong and do not disappoint, quite the contrary.So if you want to discover this first part, before season 2, which will take place in the 30s (Note the already confirmed absence of Jo Bo Ah in this new opus), you just have to connect to Viki Rakuten or Netflix.
