A cheerful synopsis

Goto Kakushi is a mangaka and single father. His daughter, Hime, does not know her father's trade and believes him to be employed like all others. Goto wants to hide his job, but the task will get complicated because of his fans and his publisher… Everyone knows that he is a manga author. This game of hide and seek and this double life will take place under the eyes of his daughter Hime who will not understand everything…
A funny and deep story
We get attached to the characters pretty quickly. Hime is very cute and respects her father's need for secrecy. Kakushi wants to protect his daughter and her clumsiness touches us. The fact that he is a single father and does everything for his daughter is very endearing. But over the episodes, we quickly realize that the story is not based only on the "hide and seek" part of his job. The father-daughter relationship is also touching. There's also Kakushi's story he had with Hime's mother. We do not know what has become of her (even if we will quickly suspect it) and we see that he still cares about her and that his daughter reflects her.
We also see the future in the form of flashforward. A future that seems to be quite sad, and that will surely move us a lot. This story teaches us to attach ourselves to a banal daily life, to ordinary characters. It is a story that could very well exist. In the end, we will attach ourselves to a life that could be that of one of our loved ones or one of our acquaintances. You don't have to have fantasy stories, superheroes, or things out of the ordinary to be captivated.
Colorful decorations
This anime is full of colors, it has a very rich graphic palette. The color and decorations allow the animation to shine fully. Indeed, we quickly enter the atmosphere of the anime. More precisely, we see the sets up close when we switch to a flashforward. Take for example the moment when we see the sea, when Hime is 18 years old. It's a very interesting choice on the part of the director. For music, she is quite playful. Especially when it's awkward moments, it makes the moment more comical. When the passage is moving, the music is softer. The soundtrack is well done, the opening and ending are perfect for the anime, we listen to them until the end with great ease.
