At the heart of love

In this manga, although we will follow the story of Yû and Tôko, we will vaguely follow the stories of Yû's friends. It should be noted that the subject of love occupies a large part of the thoughts of young adolescents, girls and boys alike. In this manga, we will learn the notion of love as well as the point of view of each of the characters present. For Tôko, love boils down to finding a person who will make her unique. A person to whom she can dare to show who she really is and thus leave behind the face of the perfect girl. We will see the evolution of our two characters over the manga. We are made to believe at first that our two main characters are similar on a sentimental level but it remains quite ambiguous afterwards. While Yû is still wondering about his feelings, Tōko does his best to conquer his beloved. The way Yû perceives love is equally interesting. She would have it her heart that chooses rather than reason or pity.

A forbidden love?

Throughout this yuri, the homophobic remarks of some people mark the spirits. On the one hand, we have Yû's father, who categorically refuses the fact that his daughter has a relationship with another girl. On the other hand, these are students who wonder if the perfect girl in high school really is. When the students meet Tōko with another girl, they drop empty words like "who makes the man according to you?". We quickly understand that homosexuality is not something banal and is criticized as much by high school students as by adults. Beyond love, Bloom into you offers us an excellent scenario. We learn a lot about Tōko's past. She is a character who continues to reveal herself over time, which strengthens our attachment to her. An important figure who should not be forgotten is Sayaka, the vice-president of the student council. From the beginning, we feel his jealousy towards Yû take an important place. Marked by a difficult breakup with a girl, Sayaka hoped to find comfort in the heart of Tôko, the president. Unfortunately, not everything goes as she wished. Thus is born his grudge against little Yû. In the end, the more we advance in the manga, the more we realize that homosexuality is much more present. Some people dare to show themselves while others hide, for fear of facing the gaze of others. Bloom into you reserves beautiful and joyful scenes but also moving moments. It is a manga that is easy to read and helps us to have a more open mind about homosexual relationships. You can continue reading with I want to eat your pancreas, an equally exciting story!
