Synopsis

Plot
At the beginning, we are introduced to Park Jung-Woo as a prosecutor who has a reputation for being a righteous person in his boots. Indeed, he works in the homicide department winning most of his cases with his convictions and is accompanied by a strong team. In addition, he is fortunate to have a loving wife and daughter who understand him. Only, one fine day, his little world collapses in a blink of an eyelash when he crosses a dangerous line. During an investigation, he finds himself facing Cha Min-Ho one of the heirs of a large company named "Chamyung". But not wanting to be caught, the latter then takes the identity of his brother Cha Sun Ho…
Fate will then play a hell of a trick on Jung-Woo who wants to stop him and reveal his true identity runs into a wall. And at the same time, he finds himself guilty of the murder of his wife and daughter. Thus, cornered, the ex-prosecutor ends up in prison becoming amnesiac and especially sentenced to the ultimate penalty: death. First of all, JI Sung (Park Jung-Woo ) is an actor that we appreciate a lot for having often seen him in comedies. However, his presence and interpretation are undoubtedly one of the best of his career. Indeed, his character is abused, alone and lost in this prison that rejects him. But who will subsequently see many changes taking place allowing him to take control of his life. However, these will be done with the help of KWON Yuri (Seo Eun-Hye) the court-appointed lawyer who believes in the innocence of her client. But it is especially on the side of the penitentiary domain that everything will be played since the first part focuses on it. Indeed, it would be too long to mention them all, but it was the detainees in Jung-Woo's cell who were the most moving. 
And especially JO Jae-Yun (Shin Chul-Sik) who marked us by being a real support for the hero. Especially since the actor is well known to the public; Each appearance is subject to a lot of humor especially in heavy moments. For example, when he is in solitary confinement and the prison chief asks him what he saw; This one speaks of flies to the point of imitating them… Finally, we cannot forget UHM Ki-Joon (Cha Min-Ho & Cha Sun-Ho) which could be considered public enemy number one. The actor offers us a first-class "villain", execrable as possible, fake, manipulator and serial killer moreover. The series would not have fascinated us as much without him, as we hated in the good sense of the word this man who crushes others.

Defendant is one of his dramas that is difficult to get rid of as the plot fascinates and touches its viewers to the depths of themselves. Thus, through two men with different visions and paths, we enter a story full of suspense, twists but far from being devoid of humor. In addition, the realization is of quality including the scenes of impressive road accidents; or that of the car chase with the humorous reference to the Transformers movies (Optimus). In addition, the scenario is well crafted constantly pushing our prosecutor to the limit. And as a result, the pressure is all the more palpable and enjoyable when one takes over the other.
The K-Drama also has some flaws such as shortcuts sometimes too obvious or predictable at times and some lengths. However, it is worth the detour and deserves that we dwell on it because we are totally in it as soon as we watch the first episode. We finish with the ost, which although few are of good quality and fit perfectly into the atmosphere. But we remember especially that of the rapper San E "Till The End" who immediately transports us into the prison world of the series with his deep and suave voice.
