Synopsis

Yuzu is a fashionable, energetic and enthusiastic girl who wants to live her life to the fullest. She does not know love and goes so far as to hide her inexperience from her friends behind lies to look good. Following her mother's remarriage, she finds herself in a new school: a very restrictive girls' school. In fact, this academy seeks to make perfect girls, like President Mei. Good in sports, beautiful, intelligent, engaged to a teacher…. and Yuzu's new half-sister. It is in this context that Yuzu will discover love.

Announced by Taifu since last August, Citrus was expected at the turn. Indeed, yuri fans had no or almost no title to put in their teeth for a while in France. This title takes us to a school environment where Yuzu, a flirtatious and enthusiastic girl, is looking for her first love. But following the remarriage of her mother, she will find herself in a new establishment, which happens to be reserved for women. This new school will have its share of surprises in store for him, starting with a rather rigid administration towards the outfit of high school girls. Yuzu will clash head-on with the president of the student council, Mei, the perfect student. And she will learn a little later that this bright but rigid teenager happens to be her new sister by marriage, the daughter of her mother's new husband.

Citrus 2

Citrus brings together two opposing beings: on the one hand Yuzu who is elegant, energetic and who dreams of her first love and on the other Mei, the president of the student council introverted and who seems very much astride the rules. While trying to learn more about his new "sister", Yuzu will discover other facets of his personality that we do not see at first. This curiosity will gradually turn into affection, until it becomes attraction.

citrus volume 1 © SABUROUTA 2013 First published in Japan in 2013 by ICHIJINSHA Inc.

If this first volume remains soft, it is because its author focuses his work more on psychology. Yuzu, the main character of the work is torn. She who dreamed of the ideal boyfriend a few days before is developed a certain attraction for a girl, and not just any girl since it is her half-sister. Although immature in appearance, reading is quick and smooth. The drawings are good, without being transcendent, the boards are focused mainly on the characters, making the landscapes almost non-existent. For the moment Citrus would be more to be categorized in shojo-ai, and we will have to wait for the next volumes to see how SABUROUTA will build his story.
