A majestic visual

Batman Ninja's strong point is its visual. Whether in terms of the sets, which are particularly colorful or the characters who have worked expressions, the result is fantastic. The characters in the film are all very colorful and seeing them with clothes from ancient Japan is really interesting. The Batman universe is often dark. Seeing him with a lot of color and aesthetics brings another vision of the Dark Knight. There is a mix between traditional Japanese animation and pure manga. The result is really amazing. A somewhat far-fetched story

On the side of the story, it is quite light: Batman, his friends (Robin, Alfred, Catwoman) and the super-villains (Joker, Harley Quinn, and almost all the villains of Gotham) find themselves, by an ellipse, transported to feudal Japan (more precisely in the Sengoku era, a time marked by political conflicts between daiymos and roughly between the fifteenth century and the sixteenth century). The Joker, Poison Ivy, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, the Penguin and Double Face conquered some territories and thus became lords, wanting to take the place of the Shogun. Very quickly, all these beautiful people will go to war. However, there are some rather disturbing things, such as robots out of nowhere (I remind you that we are in feudal Japan, already that the Joker brings back weapons from the twenty-first century, but robots?). This can destabilize the viewer and cut them off from the film. To make up for it, the super-villains of Gotham are for the most part, very well done, including the Joker which is visually beautiful; and the writing of his character is totally in keeping with his crazy look and his desire to conquer Japan. In addition, the story has no tail and no head, and some characters are sidelined like Catwoman. Whereas at first, she seemed to be an important character. The film also tried to create themes, including the difficulty for humans to integrate into a culture they do not know; But everything falls by the wayside quickly. If you like beautifully made animated films, with a big dose of wtf, Batman ninja is for you! However, be careful this one will not please everyone.
