As soon as we return to autumn, we already miss summer… That's why we decided to take a look back at the songs that came out this summer and that punctuated our vacation. Here are two clips, If I were you and Share that love, to discover or rediscover.

If I were you, an effective 1st collaboration

Let's start with the featuring between Blackbear and Lauv, two talented young musicians who have several strings to their bow since they are also singers, authors, composers and performers. "If I were you" is their first collaboration together and it's a real success. Released on August 21 in Blackbear's album "Everything means nothing", the song is also available on YouTube and already has more than 800,000 listens. Their fans were surprised to discover a clip on September 16 in a retro style where you can follow the lyrics that scroll on the images. "If I were you" is a pop song with introspective lyrics. Indeed, for the two stars, the composition of this piece was really trying since they had to put all their feelings and lay themselves bare in front of their listeners. This song is about what they could have done differently in their respective love stories by putting themselves in each other's shoes to avoid suffering. They acknowledge their wrongs, their suffering, and the resentment of separation. A really difficult exercise but one that they succeeded brilliantly. A very personal song that touched people by its lyrics but also by its music. Due to its major key (A flat major), the musical part gives a lighter side to the song which softens the sad lyrics of the verse sung by Lauv. Xylophone, synth, bass, vocals and drum rhythm, here are the ingredients they needed to write this song and turn it into a favorite for their fans. Perfect combination to make you want to listen to their hit again and again… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woNkdVEwM8o&ab_channel=blackbearVEVO

Share that love, a hard-hitting feat

Another song that marked our summer is "Share that love", a feat between Lukas Graham, a Danish pop group, and G-Eazy, a famous American rapper. Discovered on August 21, the video is available on YouTube and already has almost 900,000 views. An unexpected collaboration but one that works thunderously! "Share that love" is a pop song. This is the story of Lukas Forchhammer, the singer of the group, who lives in a neighborhood that marked his childhood. It tells his story and refers to all the good times and bad ones he spent in the Christiana district of Denmark. It is a love song, not a romantic love, but rather a true friendship borrowed from nostalgia expressing all the emotion of an encounter with his neighborhood that saw him grow day by day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZi4txQTPe4&ab_channel=LukasGraham The music, meanwhile, is written in a major key, giving the song a cheerful atmosphere mixing various instruments including a guitar, synth, bass, drums and choir. Lukas also makes us discover his vocal abilities by alternating very easily low and high, beautiful demonstration of his great tessitura. And big surprise, while G-Easy is mainly known as a rapper, we have the pleasure of hearing him get out of his comfort zone especially at the beginning of his verse where he begins to sing. He ends the song by reconnecting with his favorite field that made him such a famous person, namely rap. So no more excuses! If you haven't already, listen to these hits to immerse yourself in the summer sun.
