This highly anticipated second season of the action-packed summer series, Outer Banks, was released on July 30, 2021 on Netflix.
A SERIES SHROUDED IN MYSTERY
The series follows the adventures of a group of 5 friends, the Pogues – John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), JJ (Rudy Pankow) and Kiara (Madison Bailey) – launched in search of the treasure of the Royal Merchant, a ship surrounded by a legend, having sunk a hundred years ago. The group of friends will then have to rub shoulders with their enemies, the Kooks, and more precisely Sarah Cameron's father who will also look for the treasure and has already killed John B's father. The first season of the series was punctuated by cliffhangers at the end of each episode, enough to make us even more addicted and watch all the episodes at once. The end of the season had also left us on one of these cliffhangers whose series knows the secret. Indeed, John B and Sarah were presumed dead after evading the Outer Banks police, falsely suspecting John B of murdering Sheriff Peterkin. We found them aboard a ship en route to Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas and more precisely, the very place where Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), Sarah's father had decided to store the treasure stolen from John B and his friends.
A SEASON 2 THAT MEETS THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE SPECTATORS.
Season 2 of Outer Banks was able to answer the many questions that the first season had raised. After surviving their journey in the middle of a storm, John B and Sarah resume the search for lost treasure in the Bahamas while their friends seek to exonerate John B and find themselves embroiled in a new treasure hunt, that of the cross of Santo Domingo. It is a cross inlaid with gold and stones that according to legend would have the power to cure all kinds of diseases. Three groups will then compete to get their hands on the cross: The Pogues who want to recover what belongs to them, father and son Cameron, and Carla Limbrey (Elizabeth Mitchell), a woman with an unknown incurable disease. In addition, a new member will expand Pogues' group: Cleo (Carlacia Grant). We are already looking forward to knowing more about her in the next season. In short, this second season offers better character development, a more realistic description of Rafe Cameron (Drew Starkey), interesting new characters, even more action, more plots, etc. The scenes are always pleasant to watch because well filmed, with beautiful images of Outer Banks and beautiful staging. Season 3 has not yet been confirmed by Netflix, and so we cross our fingers to see the renewed series and know how the group of friends will get out of the situation for the least perilous in which they had put themselves at the end of the season. In addition, an unexpected character seems ready to appear again in the series.
