Almost a year after the release of her third album Solar Power, singer Lorde unveils the video for her new single Secrets From a Girl (Who's Seen It All). She speaks to a younger and less experienced Lorde.

"This song is me communicating with another version of myself. I try to pass on to him the wisdom I gained along the way." says the New Zealand singer about the meaning of the song. Indeed, we can find – on the same beach as his previous clips, three versions of the artist who interact with each other, like his three opuses Pure Heroin (the child), Melodrama (the lover) and Solar Power (the gardener).

A third album criticized

Unlike his previous productions, Solar Power is a very sunny and happy album. Where the old Lorde was anxious and sad, she now seems at peace with herself. Loneliness and the passage of time no longer frighten him as much. Moreover, it has received a lot of criticism on this subject, Solar Power being judged less well because less deep than past albums.

A single as a tribute

This clip seems to be the perfect answer, since she shows that her new fulfillment does not erase the attachment she has to her past. Here, the current Lorde takes a benevolent and tender look at its younger versions. This shows that, on the contrary, it is thanks to all these previous versions of themselves that the New Zealander has been able to find peace.

This piece is a beautiful tribute to them.
