Indeed, the talented young cook, has seen his career increase thanks to the Top Chef show which was a hit during confinement. We all remember this smiling, slender cook, with his relaxed attitude, as well as his exotic creations with bold blends. For Mory Sacko, everything happened very quickly! Thierry Marx's sous-chef at the Mandarin Oriental (2 Michelin stars); decides to open his own restaurant "Mosuke" in the Montparnasse district of Paris. Just four months after opening, it appears in the list of an international gastronomic ranking. And he goes on to become one of the "five most promising chefs in the world". Mory Sacko was invited (out of 57 promoted) to the Red Guide ceremony. Faced with the pandemic, he was rewarded and subsequently won a badge awarded by the red guide. This fall, he was awarded the title of "young talent 2020" by the Gault Millau (a French gastronomic guide).
Mory Sacko testifies to his victory on the networks
"MOSUKE STARRY! And I can already say that my year 2021 is more beautiful than 2020 (Which was already exceptional). It is not one but two awards that have been given to me by the Michelin Guide, first of all this Young Chef Awards that fills me with joy and then icing on the cake the star for Mosuke. This star is first and foremost that of a team that mobilized with determination from day one in order to win this distinction and it is in this sense that I thank them! I would also like to thank my partner, a true partner in this adventure. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the fact that we are the first restaurant with Africa on the menu (among others) distinguished by the Michelin Guide in France, what pride !…"
But why Mosuke?
" Mosuke is a contraction, which comes from his own name 'Mory'. And "suke" comes from a story about Yasuke. It is the story of a black samurai, who is the first and only one to have existed and lived in Japan, a slave who was deported from Mozambique to Japan via India. The slave became by the force of his work, a samurai. Mory Sacko. He is therefore inspired by this samurai and his story, to create original and varied dishes.
An amazing mix!
Raised by a mother of African origin, he is inspired by these dishes by wanting to highlight and democratize African cuisine. And at the same time, the basics of cooking that Mory learned, they come from French cuisine. And finally, the Japanese side is Mory's passion. He managed to bring together all his flavors to create his identity that is represented in his kitchen! A young talent just waiting to evolve, and to defend his cuisine! So, if you are convinced by this cuisine! You can always order in Click and Collect and on Déliveroo. The str27eetfood MoSugo offer offered by the Mosuke during this period of closure.
