Kolinga sings for mothers the beautiful Mama

Kolinga signs a new single, Mama (Don't let me) which is released on the occasion of Mother's Day and announces the new album. We tell you everything about Justfocus. Kolinga means "to love" in Lingala. And it is love that fills the music of Rébecca M'Boungou. Under this name that pays tribute to her Congolese origins, the musician delivers her heart and her roots. It was a meeting with jazz guitarist Arnaud Estor that sealed Kolinga's debut. Today, the band has grown and become a sextet that knows how to heat the atmosphere and spice up its grooves with funk, afro-soul and of course afrobeat. Kolinga is an atypical musical universe, carried by the captivating energy of six musicians. The character of the group was forged by combining its multiple inspirations, rich in six years of experience. The band is currently working on a second album. Rebecca says she has been obsessed with this project since 2018. Entitled "Legacy", this new opus will be of a musical aestheticism carried by its cultural, social, family, spiritual and traditional heritages. She wants to pay tribute to the styles that built her, and merges in her own way the music of her history. After the release of a first album Earthquake in 2017 and the success of its collaboration with Gaël Faye on the hymn to freedom, Kongo, the duo Kolinga turned into a sextet leaving aside electronic sequencing to share its humanist poetry in an acoustic and multicultural musical discourse with a groove as refined as powerful.
