As every year at this time of the year, in addition to the transfer window that is in full swing in the football world, the draw for the group stages of the Champions League took place. Let us now take a look at the different groups and the balance of power within them.

Group A: City and PSG as big favourites

Group A, composed of Manchester City, PSG, RB Leipzig and Bruges, sees two teams that are PSG and Manchester City stand out. Indeed, last season's two semi-finalists are favourites for the final victory: it is therefore no surprise that they are the two big favorites of their group and that they will therefore compete for the first place of the group, for what will be a remake of last year's semi-final. The poster will be all the more attractive as the two teams have strengthened with the arrival of Lionel Messi on the side of PSG and that of Jack Grealish on the side of the Skyblues. Finally, as far as Leipzig and Bruges are concerned, we can expect Leipzig capable of playing the underdogs against the two behemoths and Bruges in small thumb of their group.  Group composition: Manchester City – Paris – RB Leipzig – Bruges  psg city Champions League draw: group overview

Group B: The group to follow

Indeed, with Liverpool, Atletico, Porto and AC Milan, this is the most challenging group of this year. The Reds, Colchoneros and Porto are regulars in the competition and almost systematically go beyond the quarters of the competition. This was also the case for AC Milan when it played in the Champions League, which was no longer the case in recent years, but the club remains a stronghold of the round ball with its seven Champions Leagues. In short, a group that promises to be as exciting as it is interesting with perhaps two teams that stand out that are Atletico and Liverpool who have both been finalists or winners of the competition in recent years. Group composition: Atletico Madrid – Liverpool – Porto – AC Milan Llorente's goal for Atletico two years ago against Liverpoolliverpool atleti Champions League draw: group overview

Group C: Dortmund on pole in a homogeneous group

The German team appears to be the favorite of this group if we rely on these last results in the competition. As far as the rest of the group is concerned, the detachment of a favorite or a better-armed team seems much more complex. Indeed, Ajax Amsterdam, Sporting and Besiktas seem to be of a substantially similar level. The Dutch team, because of its recent runs, can possibly have an advantage vis-à-vis its opponents. Finally, nothing is played in this group that will probably be undecided until the end. Group D: A copy and paste from the previous edition

We take the same ones and we start again … at last almost. Indeed, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Shakhtior Donetsk have already found themselves in the same group last year with the result of the qualification of the Spanish juggernaut and the elimination of the Italian club. This year, the result could be the same despite Inter being the reigning Italian champions. Indeed, with the loss of senior players such as Lukaku and Hakimi and the departure of their coach Antonio Conte, the Italian team will have to fight hard to find the knockout stages of the most beautiful club competition. Finally, for the new kid in the group, a Romanian club named Sheriff Tiraspol, the goal will probably be to honor its supporters and, why not, get a point or more in what will be prestigious matches.   Group line-up: Inter Milan – Real Madrid – Shakhtior Donetsk – Sheriff Tiraspol  inter real Champions League draw: group overview

Group E: A classic between two giants of the last decade

Bayern Munich: two victories in the Champions League in 2013 and 2020 and finalist in 2012 / FC Barcelona: two victories in 2011 and 2015. With the bonus of memorable clashes between the two teams in 2013, in 2015 with the famous humiliation of Messi on Boateng or in 2020 with the 8-2 inflicted by Bayern to Barça. In short, a double confrontation that promises with an advantage for the Bavarians, however. Indeed, with the departure of their Argentine star, the Catalan team has lost the player capable of making differences at any time. It is therefore up to it to compensate for this with a collective strength so as not to find itself in a bad position in a group that also includes Benfica, a sure value of European football. Finally, Dynamo Kiev, who were in Barça's group last year, appears to be the weakest team in the group.  Group composition: Bayern Munich – FC Barcelona – Benfica – Dynamo Kiev Messi's dismay during Bayern's 8-2 humiliation of Barcabarca bayern Champions League draw: group overview

Group F: A remake of the final of the last Europa League

This is what jumps out when you see this group: Manchester United and Villarreal, the last finalists of the Europa League, are in this group. The opportunity for the Red Devils to take revenge on the Yellow Submarine who won the European Cup after an endless penalty session. Nevertheless, although this opposition is obvious because of the reason previously mentioned, we must not forget Atalanta Bergamo, eighth finalist last year and quarter-finalist the year before. Indeed, it is a team that shows year after year that it is formidable having finished four times in the top four of its championship over the last five years. Truth be told, Bergamo seems to be at least on the same level as the Yellow Submarine. Finally, the Young Boys of Bern seem to be the little thumb of the group. Group G: A good draw for Lille

Indeed, apart from the Seville pitfall, the group seems within reach of Lille. In any case, it was difficult for them to hope for a better draw. Indeed, they probably inherited the most affordable opponents in hats 2 and 3, although even the most affordable team in hat 2, namely Sevilla FC, appears to them to be far superior. Lille will therefore have to fight with Salzburg and Wolfsburg for second place in the group.  Group line-up: Lille – Sevilla FC – Salzburg – Vfl Wolfsburg Lille in their last participation in the Champions Leaguelille ldc Champions League draw: group overview

Group H: Chelsea and Juve as only rivals

This group is perhaps the one that leaves the least room for suspense, at least for the two qualified. Indeed, the first two places seem promised to Chelsea, the reigning European champions, and Juventus. The question will be which of the two will finish top of the group, but with an advantage for Chelsea given their last season and Juve's poor last season.  Group line-up: Chelsea – Juventus – Zenith – Malmo Chelsea winning the Champions League last yearchelsea ldc Champions League draw: group overview
