La Surf Music
Captain Rico & The Ghost Band hails from southern France. This trio roams concert halls and has made a name for itself with the brilliance of its instrumental playing that evokes Dick Dale, the Beach Boys, Pulp Fiction, and many others. From Link Wray to The Ventures to The Beach Boys, the "Surf Rock" continues its success without fail. Appeared in California at the end of the 50s, it is only from 61 to 64 that the "Surf Rock" knows its peak. Indeed, musicians like The Ventures or The Chantays popularize "Surf Music" around the world. Although the golden age is behind us, it is impossible to miss Dick Dale's famous "Misirlou" or the Beach Boys' inevitable "Surfin' USA". Not to mention "Pulp Fiction" by Quentin Tarantino and its soundtrack resolutely "Surf"! Neither vintage nor modern, Captain Rico & The Ghost Band have a sound of their own, and edgy guitar riffs that leave you stunned. "Surf Rock" is distinguished by certain well-marked musical characteristics. Instrumental pieces with a dominance of the guitar (mainly Fender brand), a use of reverb and vibrato and a fast rhythm of the drums inspired by jazz. The characteristic sound of "Surf Music" evokes the sound of the board on the wave.
