Boys Noize, Chilly Gonzales and Kelsey Lu collaborate and release the video Ride or Die in animation, a splendid video in Justfocus selection. It took more than four thousand drawings to the studio Art Camp, and Danae Gosset & Danica Tan to arrive at this result that is a landmark in the history of the clip. Ride or Die is a collaboration of Kelsey Lu and Boys Noize with a special guest: Chilly Gonzales. For the music video Ride or Die, the directors of Art Camp imagined a metaphor for our confined screws. "The video invites you to discover those parts of ourselves that we have never seen before, to discover powers that we did not know we had. The Art Camp studio, based in New York, produced and animated the video, which required 4,000 pages all hand-drawn. The release of the video was preceded by its auction via NFT technology. For Ride of Die, Kelsey Lu, Boys Noize and Chilly Gonzales invent a magnificent tapestry of sound as ethereal as melancholic until the song gets carried away, driven by an unstoppable kick. Boys Noize explained in an interview how the project came about: "One day, Gonzo sent me a recording of him playing a particular type of harpsichord called spruce, and I immediately had the idea to bring a great musical contrast to the delicate notes of the spruce. The first layers I added were a very dark percussive tribal sound with a big battery of TR-909s. This combination of classical and high-tech reminded me of Kelsey Lu, whom I had seen live shredding a cello that she had patched to guitar pedals. In addition to loving his music, the experimental approach of his instrument convinced me that we should meet. When the three of us finally got together, the studio was filled with a rare and special energy. We started right away, recording Kelsey's voice through my modular system, bending her voice wildly, bringing it closer and then into the distance, keeping in mind a vision of contrasts combined into something greater than the sum of their parts. " The result is tasted with a happiness as sound as visual.
