This year with Cerise we decided to go to the Garorock festival, here is the postponement of our first day: Friday, June 30th!
The Garorock festival was obvious by its line-up and its location: Marmande. Located in the south we hoped to find the sun … Alas we became friends with mud and rain! But that doesn't detract from the fact that we had fun and saw many great artists!
Nothing But Thieves:
the favorite of the day!
After discovering the site of the Garorock festival which is full of various and varied food stalls, 4 different stages, bumper cars and multiple wrought iron decorations that did not leave us indifferent. We then decided to head to the Trec stage to discover Nothing But Thieves.
Despite the rain that accompanied their entire set and even managed to cause some technical problems, Nothing But Thieves offered us an exceptional concert that showed us that the band was composed of enthusiasts ! But above all an endearing singer who from the second song will notice that many festival-goers have just arrived and thank them. The group communicates regularly with its audience. Then musically it is a rock band that can not leave you indifferent with the voice of a singer who goes into the treble and charms you.
MØ:
the Danish singer we've been waiting for!
We know his many hits such as Lean On featuring Major Lazer, but also his songs such as Nights With You, Final Song and Kamikaze. Through an indescribable energy, she managed to make everyone dance and warm us up despite the omnipresent humidity and feet in the mud!The singer MØ was very happy to be present at Garorock since she regularly said it with great enthusiasm and the festival-goers gave it back to her!
Foals:
a highly anticipated band!
7 months that Foals had not set foot on stage again until last Wednesday with the Nuits Fourvières de Lyon. Yannis, the singer, even confirmed that he was very happy to return to the stage and find the French audience he loves and it proved with multiple warm "Merci Garorock" and "je vous aime".
The band is back with a new set that makes us discover a Mountain At My Gates with an intro very different from the original. But also songs that they play for the first time live to the delight of festival-goers! Then at the end we were treated to the famous crowd bath of the singer on the title What Went Down and it was great!
Phoenix:
how good it is to find them!
After a few years of absence, we were delighted that the band was back with a new album so when we saw that they were performing at the Garorock festival we thought it was the perfect opportunity to see them again ! And it was simply exceptional! Despite the rain that accompanied us on some titles the festival-goers had as much fun on old tracks such as 1901 as new ones like J Boy ! Moreover, Thomas, the singer, thanked us for being present despite the rain.
Then what a breathtaking scenography!!! We were charmed by the scenery of the stage is a screen on the floor that is reflected in a mirror hanging behind them and it was great! No one was indifferent, we could hear many "it's too beautiful" or "it's serious class" for example. And finally the final bouquet revealed a dynamic singer who decided to surf through the crowd to the delight of his fans ! In short, Phoenix was great!
Diplo and Kungs:
electro to end the evening!
Our festival day ended with electro. First of all, Diplo who comes from the United States and told us at the end that his favorite audience was the French because we were great every time. Finally, we listened to a French artist Kungs, who despite his young age was able to carry the crowd in his musical atmosphere! It was perfect to end the day smoothly and let yourself be carried away by its sound.
In the end despite the rain and mud we were covered with, the first day of Garorock was great and we can't wait to discover what awaits us afterwards!
