Sabikui Bisco is an anime adaptation of the novel of the same name by Kobukubo Shinji. Available since January 10, 2022 on Wakanim and Crunchyroll, the anime will consist of 12 episodes.
"Japan is devastated by a wind that causes rust in its path. People live in fear as rust contaminates cities and all living things. In order to save his master about to die, Akaboshi Bisco, a young mushroom guardian goes in search of the devour, a mushroom capable of purifying rust. A scenario full of suspense
This beginning of the season takes us to a devastated Japan where the population tries to survive as best they can. From the first seconds, we meet Milo, a doctor helping the population of his neighborhood. We quickly realize that a deadly virus has reached society, rust. And unfortunately, the sister of our dear doctor is affected. We watch the latter try to develop a remedy to save her. In another time, a mysterious terrorist is talking about him, growing fungi with deadly spores in his path. It is then that a huge wave of questions and fascination invades us! Why? who? How? Where? One of the big highlights of the first episode is that it captivated us. Indeed, although very little information is transmitted, the interest in this series is immense. Action, suspense, endearing characters, in just 20 minutes. The studio has managed to mix all the necessary elements for a series to be a real success. And it's not over since the rest is just as captivating! Indeed, the action is present in each episode, surreal fights, charismatic characters, … and all dosed with care! Add a few moments of emotion and you have an addictive anime!
A promising anime?
As said before, these first episodes contain a lot of positives. It is therefore with great eagerness that we wait to discover the rest of the story. However, we hope that the studio will get the most out of the story and characters. Indeed, the graphics are really well done and allow you to admire the action scenes. This is only the first series made by the animation studio "Oz". But the quality is already there. The chara-design of the characters is also very well done. However, nice graphics are not everything. Japanimation has no shortage of Apocalyptic series, such as Dr Stones, Guilty Crown, Black Bullet or Japan Sinks 2020 to name a few. Indeed, the anime has a very pleasant little crazy side. Who has never dreamed of seeing a giant crab face hippos? Well, if you immerse yourself in this anime, it will be done! Add to that giant mushrooms, a militia with pink rabbit masks and you have an anime mixing action, humor, fantasy and suspense! This anime really stands out from the other releases of this early season. Indeed, the scenario is very intriguing, the graphics are quality and the suspense present more than ever! What more could you ask for?
