The very famous Bobino, has been transformed until June 9 into a grandiose circus to welcome Tabarnak of the Cirque Alfonse
For me, returning from a trip to Canada, Tabernak is a familiar swear word used in Quebec. I discovered with joy that it was also a grandiose spectacle.
For the Cirque Alfonse it is different: Surrealist mass galore, unbridled musical happening, exuberant and festive office, the Cirque Alfonse takes us on a joyful trip to hell and paradise, an anarchic and poetic Way of the Cross, a gathering where the human is familiar with the divine. From the basement to the nave, from the altar to the choir, from liturgical songs to the great organs, tabarnak celebrates Mass as a space of birth, communion, marriage, death. The church where everyone united to pray, previously in the heart of a devout society, a magical place in which our collective imagination is bathed; Place neglected, sometimes desacralized, now resurrected, reinvigorated!
As soon as you enter the room, the tone is set: the troupe going about very surprising occupations (I do not tell you more so as not to spoil the element of surprise)
The pitch? Cirque Alfonse takes us on a joyful trip to hell and paradise, an anarchic and poetic Way of the Cross, a gathering where the human is familiar with the divine. I don't know about you, but all this inspires me!
A show launched at full speed where the arts of circus, dance and theater collide in a staging inspired by the mass.
Here, the show plunges us into a parish setting where acrobatic dancers push the limits imposed by their "holy church".
The show is a mix of dance, circus arts and theatre. Between two technical feats, we attend hilarious sketches as well as a very original horoscope.
Tabarnak or circus virtuosos
Tabarnak confirms both the perfect mastery of these athletes in the execution of their acts and the company's desire to get circus arts out of their shackles. The visual effects are original and the play of light perfectly accompanies the choreographies. They really bring something to the story. It feels like it!
The artists are young, strong, beautiful, and above all excited and full of talent.
The staging is punctuated by festive and symbolic pieces.
The numbers are poetic while being technically challenging. Everything is creative and modern, far from the dusty circus. The rope, the swing and even the Chinese pole become sexy.If the girls bring grace, the boys bring humor in breathtaking numbers that flow smoothly. (Even dressed in white costumes and especially tristounets as possible, they manage to share with the public their optimism.)
Tabarnak is a magnificent show with a beautiful story, a beautiful moral for a real pleasure. For nearly 1h30, with beautiful live music, we let ourselves be transported by the numbers of these sports saints.
Between circus and modern dance with perfect choreography, the talented artists take us on a journey in an elegant staging and impressive sets. The last exercise literally ignites the room. Go for it!
