Justfocus attended a performance at the Treviso Theatre of "Mon Gainsbourg à moi".
As a strong advocate of musical performances, I took the opportunity to see this brand new show. In view of the rather transparent title of the show I understood quite quickly from which artist the repertoire would be drawn.
So far, I have never been disappointed by my musical experiences of this kind (Une vie en rose et noire, Montand, …), so I took the risk of going to see a show about an artist whose sulphurous reputation I only knew and some famous duets with pretty women.
First observation: it is a good idea to have thought of a femme to pay tribute to Serge Gainsbourg… He who loved women so much! I don't get too wet by saying that it would be rather flattered to still make women dream with his unforgettable songs.
The summary of the show still caught my attention and aroused my curiosity: "Through a very glamorous interpretation of the revisited songs of her lifelong idol – Serge Gainsbourg – the young woman will seek to achieve absolute sexual and intellectual fulfillment".
Things are clear, the heat will go up a notch tonight. Continue…
The idea of the show can be summed up in a few words: the personal life (read: intimate) of Mademoiselle A is told to us through the songs of Serge Gainsbourg.
It is a fairly nice and innovative thread. Through Serge Gainsbourg's great titles, Mademoiselle A questions us about the quest for great love. Should we surrender? Submit or dominate? On the side of men or women? In pain? In total surrender, submission or domination? What if he was all over the place at once?
At first glance, quite skeptical about the questions raised, the story allows Mademoiselle A, to take us, through the great titles of Serge Gainsbourg, in an erotic-musical universe that answers these questions.
The songs are revisited with a lot of charm and sensuality. The classics find their place, whether we talk about lollipops, old scoundrels or Harley Davidson. Favorite moment for Comme un boomerang that stayed in my mind a few days after the show.
The two artists Mademoiselle A (vocals and comedy) and Mathieu Lucas (piano and bass) perform on stage with an overflowing complicity. Their complicit stage play energizes the songs and the narrative.
Mathieu Lucas is of great virtuosity, he gives the note while discreet. Discreet yes, but effective, which makes him a real stage partner. He contributes a lot to the show both through his fishing and his respondent.
Mademoiselle A, with a capital A, complete and talented artist is endowed with an indisputable stage presence. She is, in turn, sensual and sulphurous and manages to convey all the emotions with a disconcerting naturalness.
The costumes are sought after, the light effects and the staging too. The video projections give a very sensitive color to this beautiful musical show.MOMENT did you know: the show was nominated at the P'tits Molières 2016 in the category "best scenography". The show is as beautiful to listen to as it is to see.
Thank you for sublimating the songs of Gainsbourg and for having carried us with your presence and sensuality in your own Gainsbourg!
