Hidden in his lavender bush, Cyrano

Hidden in his lavender bush, Cyrano smelled of laundry, fireflies, 8:40 pm: favorite, poetic of the Avignon OFF festival 2018.

A legendary theatrical character

To begin, let's talk about Cyrano de Bergerac. Because it is about this character, THE theater character, the one that every actor dreams of embodying . The one who, by his words, his presence, finally his panache what, made us all vibrate. What if Cyrano could be played by a woman? What if Cyrano, in fact, was a samurai? It seems that with ifs, we could bottle Paris. What is certain, however, is the poetry with which the company HECHO EN CASA transports us with its incredibly original adaptation of Cyrano.

The show is adapted from the children's book by Taï Marc le THAN and whose illustrations by Rebecca DAUTREMER inspired the play.
The scenography, refined, is simply breathtaking ingenuity. A green wall, a chess plateau that appears as if by magic, lines, pure, simple, Japanese.
By clever manipulations, the 3 storytellers make us revisit this famous story: the balcony scene is sublime, that of the battle in a field of reeds is just as sublime. Beautiful, funny and poetic, thank you to these 3 actresses for making us vibrate with emotion.

This show is my favorite of the OFF festival of Avignon 2018 : I strongly recommend you to go see it.

Excerpt from text:

When you have a big nose, you can also have a normal life:

Eat (without too much pepper), drink (with a straw), sleep (except on your stomach) and be in love (no comments).

Cyrano was in love

From his cousin Roxane.

He had been told that it is not very good to be in love with his cousin, but anyway, he did not dare to tell her (because of his big nose)

Cyrano was unhappy.
