After the Musée d'Orsay, it is the turn of theEiffel Tower to reopen its doors on Thursday, June 25, after more than three months of closure. A reopening that makes people happy!
This gigantic Parisian monument will reopen gradually. For now, only the first two floors are accessible. Attention, the elevators remain closed following the rules imposed by the health crisis. Stairs are therefore the only way to access it. That's more than 674 steps to climb ! A considerable figure for which it is better to be prepared. The summit will reopen from 15 July.
Measures against Covid-19
Many measures have been taken to be able to open the Eiffel Tower without risking contamination of the coronavirus. Patrick Banco Ruivo, CEO of the Société d'Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE), explains: "Our priority is the safety of visitors and our employees." Masks will then be mandatory for everyone. Thirty points of hydroalcoholic gel have been installed within the Iron Lady, and 1,300 stickers have been placed where it is likely to have waiting.
The maximum number of visitors allowed per floor changes dramatically since the first floor will accommodate only 750 people, against 2,000 usually. For the second floor, only 700 visitors will be able to access it, against 1,200 usually.
Regarding elevators, a first will reopen this Wednesday, July 1st. The Director General details:
"Normally, a cabin can accommodate up to 45 people. In the first week, this number will be limited to eight. Then, depending on the recovery, it will evolve: up to 20 people the following week, then thirty… »
