The Théâtre Les Pieds Nus returns with Cyrano, a new show performed from September 26 to October 28 at the Funambule Montmartre. Directed by Bastien Ossart, Cyrano is an adaptation of Edmond Rostand's masterpiece, superbly interpreted by three actresses.
A masterful adaptation
On the refined stage of the Funambule Montmartre, with a few candles for only lighting, the company Théâtre Les Pieds Nus gives life to Cyrano, paying tribute to him in the most beautiful way. The use of stage space by the actresses is particularly well thought out and allows the spectators to immerse themselves in the story and represent themselves in the sets much more than if they had been built directly on stage. The stage extends into the ranks of the audience, making the show more lively than ever and participatory from beginning to end. The entrances and exits have a unique essence that makes the company's representations so recognizable.
Feminine panache
The originality of Cyrano lies in the distribution of roles. The actresses Nataly Florez, Iana Serena de Freitas and Lucie Delpierre interpret all the characters of the play. Each protagonist is identified by a mask and a way of expressing himself that are his own. The actresses change roles regularly with skill. Each of them can thus bring his vision of the character, further developing his character, making him more alive and more endearing. The three actresses brilliantly interpret Cyrano's romanticism and panache, while making the secondary characters funny and endearing. No need more than these masks and a few accessories to captivate the viewer and bring Cyrano's sublime and tragic story to life before his eyes.
A unique and poetic Cyrano
The adaptation of Cyrano by the Théâtre Les Pieds Nus is a vibrant tribute to the poetry and verb of the monument created by Edmond Rostand. The love of words and that of the theater are highlighted as much by the staging chosen as by the diction and declamation always perfectly adapted to the actresses. The stanzas are weighed and played in order to bring out the essence and remove all the emotions they contain. Just like in the superb Cabaret Shakespeare, the troupe does neither too much nor too little, but just enough to offer a performance worthy of the greatest.
Just like the original work of Edmond Rostand, the Cyrano of the Théâtre des Pieds Nus is a masterpiece not to be missed under any circumstances!
