Conduct of the convention

The course of the weekend was quite similar to that of the majority of conventions. Three panels during the day: one in the morning, one after the lunch break, and one in the evening. These panels are accessible to anyone with a pass. For 20 to 30 minutes, the actors answer our questions, tell us anecdotes about the shooting and other … At the beginning of each day, great videos made by Lois_13 were broadcast. You can see all his videos on his Youtube channel. During the rest of the day, there are extra sessions : autographs, photoshoots, meetings… For those who have little or no extra, Royal Events organizes many activities: games like quizzes on the series or mimes on the chain. You can buy scratch tickets or spins (all 100% winning). A raffle with twenty extras to win is also organized. In the end, (very numerous) extras but also gifts related to the series are offered by the organization, which is a big positive point for them. The atmosphere is also great. The staff is always listening to answer our questions, always with a smile, the translator of the panels ensures totally (and is very funny!) And all the fans are happy to be there, and it shows. Everyone has a smile on their face, and even if you come alone, you quickly find people to stay with throughout the weekend. Some fans even came to cosplay, all more beautiful than each other.

Summary of panels

Season 4 Info

According to Eliza, season 4 is going to be hectic.People who took the chip will remember what they did.Jessica shot a scene with Chris. Someone asked if we will have flashbacks during this season. After discussing it privately, Lindsey and Clarke said probably not.

If they were a Disney character

Ricky: The genius of Aladdin.

Eliza: Ariel, the Little Sirene because it's sexy. She also played a younger Snow White, and she kept forgetting her lines.

Jessica and Chris: Cruella.

Rhiannon: Snow White.

Lindsey: Mulan, even though at the time she had Pocahontas' hair.

If they could bring a character back to life

Ricky: He didn't comment but coughed quite significantly.

Eliza: Apart from Lexa, she would like to bring back Jake Griffin or Dante Wallace.

Jessica: She first said Murphy, before adding that he was not dead, but that there cannot be a single Harmon on the set.

Chris: Hannah Green but Eliza thinks she's horrible.

Rhiannon: Ontari

Bulk info:

  • A fan asked if Eliza and Lindsey know about the Princess Mechanic ship. Eliza replied that she has seen some pretty weird fanart before. They say with a laugh that we will have in 2018 a spin-off where we will see them both go shopping in Ikea.
  • It takes between 2 and 7 hours for Ricky to get his tattoos.
  • Jess and Rhiannon imagined swapping characters, until Jess realized she should sleep with her brother.
  • Eliza thinks that if Raven wasn't disabled, Clarke would have been kicked a lot in the head.
  • Even though he doesn't watch the show anymore, he wants it to continue because he loves the cast and crew. Eliza believes there will be a season 5 if fans continue to watch the series legally.
  • Between Monty-Harper and Jonty, Chris chooses Jonty
  • In a scene that was cut, Monty gives Lincoln advice over Octavia.
  • The scene where Finn dies was very hard to shoot for Lindsey and Eliza. On the other hand, Ricky and Marie slept in their dressing room because they had forgotten to warn them that the scene was being shot.

The evening

The evening was on the theme of Peace and Love, because the series is very bloody and we had to thwart this. It took place at the Hotel Pier, which has a magnificent view of Toulouse. The room was very well decorated, and we were treated to a flower necklace, fluorescent bracelets and makeup when we arrived. The punch was served in a blood bag. Once the meal was over, the actors arrived and they spent an hour with us. Lindsey did the bartender before coming to dance with us, Ricky spent the evening in the center of the room talking to everyone and dancing. Chris and Jessica did a slow one. Rhiannon and Eliza had fun painting on the faces and arms of the participants. Eliza also apologized the next day to all "her victims".

My view of the convention

The thing that struck me the most was how adorable each actor is. Always with a smile, whether during panels or during extras. In particular Rhiannon, who has accustomed us to embody a strong character and not particularly nice, is a person always smiling, very kind with a soft voice. Jessica was a pleasant surprise, very funny and we can't wait to see her in future episodes. Christopher insisted that each person who passes for an autograph with him signs a T-shirt for him, which he presented to his last panel. The latter and Ricky arrived on Sunday morning in bathrobe for the first panel. Lindsey and Eliza are an excellent duo, and we see that they have a beautiful friendship.

The only negative point of this weekend is the rather significant delay we had throughout the weekend, which led to the prohibition to talk or hug the actors during the duo and group photoshoots. In addition, the last panel was at 8pm, which prevented some people from accessing it. But Royal Events quickly caught up, announcing a third edition of the We Are Grounder in 2018!

Conclusion

I am very happy to have made this convention. I thank the entire RE team for her presence and her patience, Maëva who translated the panels throughout the panels, as well as Lauren and Clémentine, the two great organizers who once again managed to make us a wonderful convention. And finally, thanks to Lindsey, Eliza, Chris, Ricky, Jessica and Rhiannon for coming to Toulouse and for all their messages of love. May we meet again.
