Broadcast on Netflix since January 5, The End of the F**king World has been very discreet. Initially published on the English channel Channel 4 in October 2017, Netflix has allowed itself to broadcast this jewel internationally. A look back at one of the first successes of the year in the world of series.

Don't judge a book by its cover

James is 17 years old and thinks he is a psychopath. He has already killed several animals but is now looking for something bigger. This is his only reason to keep going to school, to spot his next victim. Without warning anyone, it is then that Alyssa tumbles into her life to shake as it should the little that happens there. Alyssa, who sees herself as rebellious, is definitely fed up with those around her. It is therefore on a whim that the freshly presented duo decides to steal James' father's car and leave the city that serves as their home. It is on this basis that the series is presented, and it is fortunately the only visible part of the iceberg. We thought there was an age requirement to play Bonnie and Clyde, but Alyssa and James show us too simply the opposite. Leaving the codes of teenage series where teenagers are only shown as victims and then as survivors, The end of the fucking world paradoxically decides to show that as a teenager, you can do anything.

A grunge series

With all the series that come out every year, we often find ourselves facing teenagers of our generation. Phone in hand, headphones or earphones on the ears, they are codified to be extraordinary in spite of themselves and are almost all similar in their operation. It is a completely different party that The End of the F**king World decides to take. No telephone, no TV, nothing that can connect us to something modern. Even music and cars take us back 10 years. And we love it. It is much easier to learn to attach oneself to one's characters who are as frank as each other by their voice-over who speak indirectly to each other and who do not really think before acting. The universe of Tarantino in the 90s is widely felt, and such references can only please.

Clearly, The End of the f**king World is a series not to be missed. The format 8 times 20 minutes gives a long film of 2 hours 30 that is watched in one go without having time to see the time pass. We learned a few days ago that the series would be entitled to a second season (for our greatest pleasure)
