Banksy's work stolen from the Bataclan in 2019 is found in Italy

Banksy had paid tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack of November 13, 2015 at the Bataclan with a stencil painting on one of the doors of the establishment. In January 2019, the work of the famous British street-artist disappears… But the Italian police announce that they have found the famous door.  The work was found during a police operation in central Italy. The carabinieri announced this Wednesday:

"We recovered the door stolen from the Bataclan with a work by Banksy representing the sad girl," a senior carabinieri officer in Teramo told AFP. Specifying that the operation was carried out in the presence of French police.

According to the daily La Repubblica, quoting the prosecutor of L'Aquila, the door was found in a farm in the countryside of the Abbruzes. The operation took place during a search ordered by the prosecutor's office. The newspaper also said that this discovery "was made possible thanks to the investigations carried out by the prosecutor's office in collaboration with the French police and justice".

Banksy: a magnificent tribute

This painting depicts a sad-looking female figure. It is painted with stencil on one of the emergency exits of the Parisian theater. A passage that was taken by many spectators during the concert of the Eagles of Death Metal. All were trying to flee the terrorist attack declared inside the walls. 90 people lost their lives on November 13, 2015.

The work was stolen on the night of January 26 to 27, 2019; cut with a grinder.
"The work of Banksy, symbol of contemplation and belonging to all, residents, Parisians, citizens of the world has been taken from us," denounced Le Bataclan.
