This special Zelda masterclass named "The Art of The Legend of Zelda Series" will take place on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 12:30 pm at the Japan Expo convention, on the Ichigo stage of Hall 5B! And for this meeting, 3 guests of choice we will honor with their presence: Eiji Aonuma, Yusuke Nakano and Satoru Takizawa !
Eiji Aonuma is the producer of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Deputy General Manager. He joined Nintendo in 1988 and has worked as a director on Marvelous: Another Treasure Island and The Legend of Zelda series with the titles Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. But that's not all since he also worked on the games Four Swords Adventures, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Skyward Sword, A Link Between Worlds and Tri Force Heroes as a producer. In other words, you can meet a distinguished guest at Japan Expo 2017!
Yusuke Nakano is the illustrator of "The Battle of Ganon" from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and a Senior Specialist at Nintendo. He joined Nintendo in 1992 and has worked as an illustrator on Link's legendary series including Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages (character illustration/design), The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess (Main Character Illustration/Design), A Link Between Worlds and Tri Force Heroes !
Satoru Takizawa is Art Director of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Senior Specialist at Nintendo as is Yusuke Nakano. He joined Nintendo in 1995 and has worked on titles such as Super Mario 64 (Enemy Design) and The Legend of Zelda series including Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (enemy design), The Wind Waker (Design Manager), Twilight Princess or The Wind Maker HD as Art Director but also Skyward Sword as Design Support.
On the occasion of their visit, Nintendo organizes a fanart contest on the theme of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild whose winners will be determined by the 3 guests and revealed during the masterclass!
Also know that an escape game based on The Legend of Zelda license will be set up at Japan Expo. Organized by the company Scrap, it will allow you to explore Hyrule and interact with the Goron, Zora and Kokiri peoples. 60 minutes of challenge to try to enter the legend and become a real hero!
