An unreleased track
This Friday comes out a box celebrating the year 1969 of the rocker. The flagship title, La nuit avec moi, is an unreleased song, which slept on tapes and which was unearthed on the occasion of the release of this album. This track is part of the recording sessions of Rivière… Open Your Bed appeared that year, but was left out at the time.
"I have no explanation, musically, it's in the same vein as the rest of the album, with guitar-bass-drums, it's quite rock," says Xavier Perrot, artistic director of the Hallyday catalog at Universal, who is one of the discoverers of this nugget. "We tried to restore it in the intention of the time, that is to say that Johnny had gone to London – it is the French performer who recorded the most in England or the United States – a particular sound, with the instruments forward," he continues.
The Johnny 69 box set, in addition to The Night with Me, presents many rarities, in the studio or concerts. We find in this double vinyl, the archive photos of The Independent taken by our former photographer Amado Jover.
