New week, new films on display. From Love Simon, to Hungry with Louane Emera or Budapest, this Wednesday's cinema releases vary and go through all genres, to please young and old. To your notebooks!


Budapest

Comedy directed by Xavier Gens, with Manu Payet, Jonathan Cohen, Monsieur Poulpe.

Synopsis : Vincent and Arnaud, two friends who are bored in their work, decide to give up everything to create "Crazy Trips": an agency that organizes bachelor parties in Budapest. On site, they are guided by Georgio, a French expatriate who reveals all the secrets of the city…


Tully

Drama directed by Jason Reitman, starring Charlize Theron, Mackenzie Davis, Ron Livingston.

Opera

Horror-horror directed by Dario Argento, with Cristina Marsillach, Ian Charleson, Urbano Barberini.

Synopsis : Chosen to replace the lead singer in a Verdi opera, a young opera singer, Betty, is pursued by a mysterious possessive fan.


Love, Simon

Drama and romance directed by Greg Berlanti, starring Nick Robinson, Jennifer Garner, Josh Duhamel.

Synopsis : We all deserve a first great love story. Yet for Simon, it's complicated. He has a normal life, in a family he adores and surrounded by extraordinary friends, but he keeps a big secret to himself: no one knows he is gay and he does not know the identity of his first crush, with whom he communicates online.


Parvana

Animated film directed by Nora Twomey, starring Golshifteh Farahani, Saara Chaudry, Soma Bhatia.

Synopsis : In Afghanistan, under the Taliban regime, eleven-year-old Parvana grows up in war-ravaged Kabul. She enjoys listening to the stories told to her by her father, a reader and public writer. But one day, he is arrested and Parvana's life changes forever. Because without being accompanied by a man, you can no longer work, bring back money or even buy food.


Sicario: The Cartel War

Thriller directed by Stefano Sollima, starring Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, Isabela Moner.

Synopsis : Mexican cartels reign terror on the border between Mexico and the United States. Nothing and no one seems to be able to counter them. Federal agent Matt Graver once again calls on the mysterious Alejandro to kidnap young Isabela Reyes, daughter of the baron of one of the largest cartels in order to start a fratricidal war between the gangs.

Drama directed by Laura Bispuri, starring Valeria Golino, Alba Rohrwacher, Sara Casu.

Ten-year-old Vittoria lives with her parents in a remote village in Sardinia. A Knife in the Heart

Thriller directed by Yann Gonzalez, with Vanessa Paradis, Nicolas Maury, Kate Moran.

Synopsis : Paris, summer 1979. Anne is a producer of cheap gay porn. When Loïs, her editor and companion, leaves her, she tries to win her back by shooting a more ambitious film with her long-time accomplice, the flamboyant Archibald. The Hungry

Comedy directed by Léa Frédeval with Louane Emera, François Deblock, Nina Melo.

Synopsis : Zoe is 21 years old. And Zoé has her slap to hear "it's normal, you're young! ». As she moves into a flatshare, she realizes that she is not alone in struggling between classes, internships and poorly paid odd jobs. Determined to upset the plot that is brewing, she unites around her a generation of hungry people. Together, they are determined to change things and make their voices heard!


2 hours from Paris

Comedy directed by Virginie Verrier, with Erika Sainte, Shirley Bousquet, Fred Testot.

Synopsis : Sidonie, a young flight attendant in her thirties, raises her 15-year-old daughter, Lolo, born of an unknown father. To satisfy the teenager's growing curiosity about his origins, Sidonie takes him to his native region, in the Bay of Somme, in search of potential fathers.


Thoroughbred

Thriller directed by Cory Finley, starring Olivia Cooke, Anya Taylor-Joy, Anton Yelchin.

Synopsis : The stormy friendship between two suburban teenagers: the model student on one side, and a young rider who has just injured her horse.


JSA (Joint Security Area)

Drama directed by Park Chan-Wook, starring Song Kang-Ho, Byung-Hun Lee, Yeong-ae Lee.

Synopsis : Following a shooting in the Joint Security Area separating the two Koreas: two soldiers of the North Korean army are found dead. This case gave rise to a major diplomatic incident between the two countries.


Midnight Ramblers

Documentary directed by Julian Ballester.

Night after night, Kye, Tobias, Paul, Kim and Tattoo wander through the maze of Montreal's avenues and alleys. They support each other and drugs accompany them all. It is an escape and at the same time, what prevents them from getting out of it. Kye, the youngest, sometimes dreams of somewhere else.
