Jon Landau spoke on the website RNZ during an interview about the next installment of Avatar. His answers allow us to understand a little more in detail, the story of this next film.

Avatar 2 filming resumes

James Cameron's film is expected to resume filming shortly. Indeed, because of the Coronavirus, the shooting of Avatar 2 had been postponed. Fortunately, New Zealand has allowed filming to resume, which should help maintain the film's release date for December 2021. Jon Landau, one of the producers of the future blockbuster, tells us more about the measures put in place following Covid-19 during the interview for RNZ :

"We feel very comfortable because of the actions of the government and also the responsibility that people have taken to really fight the virus there [New Zealand]. We feel like we're coming back to the safest place in the world possible."

He also emphasizes the talent of the people of New Zealand. According to him, the world of Pandora would not have been so realistic and of such high quality without them. An unpublished image had already been unveiled last week on the resumption of filming. Landau seems all the more ready, like the entire film team, to continue and finish shooting Avatar 2. For him, the public needs entertainment and escape more than ever. The story of Avatar should offer this opportunity thanks to the world of Pandora and the characters. https://www.instagram.com/p/CAdy0QNpwLP/?utm_source=ig_embed

A family for Sully and Neytiri

Also in the same interview, Jon gives us more details about the story of the film:

"This film tells the story of the Sully family, and what one person is able to do to protect their family. Jake and Neytiri have a family in this movie. They are forced to leave their home, they go on adventures and explore different regions of Pandora. They spend a long time on the water, underwater, in the water."

Very interesting revelations then. The idea that the film will focus on the aquatic world is partly confirmed by Landau's statements. Another interesting point, the two protagonists played by Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana would have a family! Maybe they'll have a whole bunch of little Na'vis children?

Still many questions about this film that should, thanks to technology and its history, put us in full eyes!
