To deal with the coronavirus, the Disney line-up has been completely revamped. Dwayne Johnson recently explained the important postponement of Jungle Cruise, postponed to July 2021. Last Friday, we learned of the implementation of a new theatrical release schedule for Disney and Marvel productions, to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. And among the major changes of this new line-up, we could see an almost complete delay of phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a release in July for Mulan (initially scheduled for March) and a postponement of a little more than a year (!) for the adventure film Jungle Cruise, which was supposed to hit theaters this summer. We note that the film had already been postponed a first time by a few months… Producer and lead actor of the film (alongside Emily Blunt), Dwayne Johnson posted last weekend a small message to his fans on his Instagram account. He explains that this new setback is an announcement to be taken with optimism. This delay will allow everyone to discover the feature film in good conditions.
"Our Disney Jungle Cruise movie is officially pushed back a year and will be released on July 30, 2021. This date makes me optimistic, because it will allow Disney teams to be fully operational in all their areas of activity (amusement parks, hotels, cruises …) But more importantly, it will give the world time to recover, to get back to living confidently, usefully and joyfully again. […] I thank all the fans around the world. The film will live up to expectations. Stay healthy, my friends."
In its video message, The Rock also informs us that on this new date, all sectors of the Disney industry will be "pumped up" (including amusement parks currently closed). This is an important factor, especially since Jungle Cruise (like Pirates of the Caribbean) is directly adapted from a famous attraction in American parks. See you in July 2021 to embark on this new adventure. And until then, (re)discover the trailer of the movie Jungle Cruise.
