After the hit series Big Little Lies, the Oscar-winning actress totally changes her look by daring a more masculine role to mark her return. However, a few years later, she investigates an unexplained murder that will lead her to dig into her past to get rid of her demons. The actress explained her choice to metamorphose:
"I can't look like Nicole Kidman. In the way I'm going to be perceived, the appearance has to reflect what's going on inside."
The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, during the press conference, she confessed to having "grown up with these kinds of films. I watched [Al] Pacino play those roles; I've watched every '70s man get the chance to do it, but I don't have a female equivalent. It's exciting as an actress to have this role. This character is also very far from me, which is part of the attraction as an actor: to go where I have not had the opportunity to go. I'm looking for characters and stories that make me say, "This is new, but it's still emotionally relevant. »
The film will be in theaters in France early 2019.
