After a musical, comics, or films like Guy Ritchie's, there are countless adaptations made about the legend of King Arthur. This time, it's Netflix that embarks on a series on the famous story, with Cursed.

"A reinvention of the Arthurian legend, told through Nimue"

The first episodes of the new bet of the streaming giant, called Cursed, have already been ordered. This new Netflix drama series will be directed by Frank Miller, the creator of Sin City, well supported by Tom Wheeler (The Cape), who will write the script alongside him.

The story will therefore be a reinvention of the Arthurian legend, told through Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift, and destined to become the powerful Lady of the Lake. After the death of her mother, the young woman teams up with Arthur, an unexpected partner. He is a young mercenary, who aims to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. The series will tell their journey, and will feature a rebellious heroine, who will show courage in the face of the horrifying enemies that are the Red Paladins.

A symbolic work for the director of the series Frank Miller, who has "always been fascinated by Arthurian mythological history, and by Nimue in particular", so much so that he is working in parallel on a book adaptation of the same work. A challenge that he will take up with Tom Wheeler, with whom he also collaborates on the series. Frank Miller says it's a story that can be "interpreted in different ways: from a children's tale like Merlin the Enchanter, to a more terrifying interpretation like Excalibur." The director concludes by rejoicing in these new adventures, which prove to be "incredible opportunities and exciting challenges".

This new Cursed series, built in 10 episodes, does not know a release date on Netflix. Patience…
