On June 24th, the 18th edition of the Solidays was held at Longchamp racecourse. An enlarged space for the occasion and a surprising program.

We had been waiting for him for a long time and he was back Friday afternoon for the opening of Solidays. I'm talking about the sun, of course. It was under its radiant clarity that we began this annual communion, marked by the shooting in Orlando!

Among the changes and novelties, we note the presence of 3 new stages: the Arena which competes with the Greenroom and also offers a Silent Disco; the Kiosk hosts some world music (including this small Colombian group – Cumbia & Cardon); finally, the Tipi in the heart of the village of associations where small formations such as Forro de Balkao and the mass of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have found.

Yanis, our darling, was invited for the first time on a festival of this magnitude and we immediately felt that he was happy to be there. The public quickly adopted it and it was a real sharing of love that we witnessed. There was a beautiful energy flowing from the stage to the pit and from the pit to Yanis, who greeted the enthusiasm of the audience with great emotion.

We were able to find him an hour later to collect his impressions.

In the coffee forum, Matthieu Ricard, close to the Dalai Lama, reveals that every human being is capable of empathy and that it is in this feeling that lies altruism that will make the world benevolent and better. Words full of wisdom to ponder!

Faada01

Faada Freddy was also back. For the 2nd time in a row, he joins the programming of Solidays and performs on a stage and not least: it is on the main stage of Paris that he gathers festival-goers to preach beautiful words and his music spreads a lot of joy and enthusiasm in the heart of the festival. His good mood is communicative.

Naaman

Newcomers in the programming, Naâman offered himself the stage of the Bagatelle well filled and his song of freedom and peace made the Solidays groove. A hoarse voice for a dynamic and motivated young man.

The Solidays is also an opportunity to meet many associations carrying humanity and hope. Thus, while strolling through the alleys of the village, we exchanged with Greenpeace, Coexist, LicraAnd our dearest sisters of perpetual indulgence. In the course of conversations about current events, ecology, tax fraud, AIDS, homophobia, secularism, living together… We feel a lot of positive vibes invading us and a desire to participate in this change still possible. In the distance, Patrice's refreshing music punctuates our exchanges.

M83

During a lunch break, we listen to M83 in the background; The band celebrates its return with dignity after 4 years of absence.
For her part, Flavia Coelho makes the big top of the César Circus dance to the rhythms of mixed music.

We then had to run between Flume and The Quemist, two must-sees of this edition. The first one was long overdue but spoiled us with its clean and gripping electro pop, evolving between a trap and aerial sound. The latter shook us with a fast sound, electro rock and particularly electrifying.

One of the concerts not to be missed on this first day of Solidays was undoubtedly that of DJ Snake. He also returned to Paris; He took the opportunity to party with festival-goers. Impressive show with a breathtaking play of lights and jets of flames, a well calibrated electro music, a powerful sound and above all a crazy atmosphere.

DJSnake

Finally, a DJ we were looking forward to: Boys Noize offered us a live set of excellence, wonderfully well worked. We took a malicious pleasure in listening and rediscovering his titles.

A first day already very rich and it is only the beginning of the weekend!
