In the beginning was a theory: that of the Pepito

Imagine. You who love above all this little chocolate cake, you choose, one day, tired of always eating the same thing, to make infidelities by testing another. In your opinion, will you rather choose a cake that has the same shape, the same flavor as a Pepito? Like for example, a Granola? Or will you opt for something different, maybe not necessarily better, but new… A figolu? Or a Chamonix, perhaps?

Well with women, it's the same. And it is Maeva Pasquali and Sylvia Guichenuy , under the direction of Jérôme de Verdière, who demonstrate it to us until September 11, at the very intimate Théâtre de la Boussole.

A bench for two, or rather for one!

In the center of the stage is a bench.A bench so small, so narrow, that the two women who took place there have no choice but to invite each other to leave as soon as possible. If possible, before their respective "date" arrives.

From the outset, indeed, they cannot feel.Something that is physical, maybe also instinct.Only, now their appointment is desired. The minutes fly by and the tension rises between our two protagonists. Each exults to see that her neighbor has had a rabbit posed by a man who has the same name. What a coincidence!

Sylvie Guichenuy and Maeva Pasquali

These two women seem to have very little in common, at first glance. One is blonde, the other is brunette. Their age difference escapes no one, and especially not them. Both monopolize the small space granted to them by playing "the one that will be the most unpleasant and that will make the other want to go elsewhere."

From scathing lines, we move very quickly to invective, irresistibly murderous, swinging on the fly during this first act: the re-part begins. Our two opponents will, in three rounds well conducted, go from the exchange of cowries, to the unveiling of their feelings, opening up to each other, a little helped by the magic of vodka, which unties the tongues and makes the hearts open … All this only to discover that they are not as different as they seem.

A more than positive verdict for this show

We have a great time in the company of these two actresses who carry with crazy energy this hilarious play. Between two lines that fuse tac-for-tat, we struggle to catch our breath, so much we laugh. The staging of the play "Un banc pour deux", brilliantly orchestrated by Jérôme de Verdière, is incredibly effective. Around the central element of the bench, will crystallize the whole plot, but also around the lover / husband who is surprisingly present by his absence. He, too, seems to occupy a large place on this bench. So much so, that it fails to bring us down, too.

We come out of this play delighted to have shared this moment with lively actresses who give themselves admirably on stage. We leave with lessons of repartee in the notebook and a photo of us with those thanks to whom we had such a good evening: the actresses, the director and the audience! Congratulations!

You have until September 11 to admire them, so run to the Théâtre de la Boussole!
